Q: What does the other side look like? I can only see the side with the bins.
submitted by jlynnew5 - 2 months ago
A: Hi, The back side is a wood panel behind the shelves and is a place for the children to stand. There are no shelves or bins. Your Friends at Melissa & Doug

Q: is this to small for a 7 year old? who is about 4 ft tall. or is this more for 3-5 year olds? thanks
submitted by carzate - 6 years ago
A: For the size, it was not too small for my 7yo. Although, he found little interest in it by that age. My 2 and 5yo still enjoy it regularly. The height is appropriate for all of them. They lean or kneel or bend to accommodate for their individual sizes.

Q: Does this come with any of the fruit?
submitted by Hubble - 7 years ago
A: Hi! Not knowing what play food is already stocked on your shelves, the Grocery Store/Lemonade Stand does not come with any produce.

Price match is a joke with this company. Don’t expect to get any refund if they decrease the price after purchase.
I would not buy this again

I bought this last December for my pre-K class and have used it for only 6 months. It is so wobbly I had to build an additional frame for it and pieces were starting to fall off. My students only used it one hour a day two days a week. My classroom is about 50% Melissa and Doug toys I am very disappointed that this was not the same quality I have come to depend on.

I on my own custom furniture business, so assembling items like this isn’t challenging… except when M&D manufactures products where holes don’t line up, barrel nuts aren’t long enough so they have you cussing, and why for the love, does everything need a tiny hex wrench!?!
Cutest lemonade stand ever

Love this lemonade stand it’s so practical for a real stand and fun for pretend play too! My 3 and 6 year old love playing market. Only issue is it ships in original packaging and the box had multiple rips in it and a piece of wood had a small crack in it.

The kids just love this item. Well made, sturdy and colourful. They can play with this for hours at a time. Great purchase. Worth the money as it is not cheaply made. Would recommend this for sure.

I really like this item after it was finally put together. Assembly was difficult because there was something wrong with one of the rods. The nuts were super annoying. We have two of these and one of them we had to rig one of the rods because the hole in it wasn’t drilled properly. Once it was all finished I was happy with the result. It’s a sturdy market and my kids ages 10,9, 7, 5, and 2 all love playing with it even though it was purchased for our five year old. It’s a sturdy set and the bins hold a lot more than I was expecting. The quality is really good. I expect it to last some time. I’m sure my 2 year old and little one on the way will be playing with it for years to come. That’s how good the quality is.

It’s cute and easy to put together, but it was missing all the chalkboards. Very disappointing to have to give it to my granddaughter for Christmas and it’s missing the boards.

Everything was great about assembling this cool toy except one. The upright posts that hold on the awning did not have counter-sunk holes. The screws could not engage the barrel bolts. Fortunately hubby is savvy and could cut them himself. Otherwise, it would not have been sturdy. I hope they have fixed this in future kits because it makes a difference. It is adorable once assembled!
Wish I could rate it higher.

Would love to give a higher rating..but the counter top was obviously damaged in the manufacturing and instead of replacing it, the manufacturerer tried to conceal it with a non-matching paint. I allerted Melissa and Doug directly via email, but never heard back. I choose to keep the item as I did not want to wait to return this one and receive a replacement.

I bought this after my granddaughter's birthday. She is autistic and has to know all the toys are for everyone around here. She has not talked much until we put this together. We hear more sounds and see more play than we have seen in the last six months that they have been here. She started counting at school, and is recognizing the alphabet and numbers and distinguishing between the two. I am eventually going to get a set of veggies and fruits, cash register, play money, etc. to add to this wonderful collection. It has opened up a whole new world for her!
Frustrating assembly for FABULOUS results!

The overall finished piece is quite sturdy, super cute and perfect for pretend play but take heed in previous comments plus the fact that my husband is a carpenter and it still took him an hour and a half (!!) to build this market stand taking all of the reconfiguration of drill holes and such into mind. For the record, my nine year old granddaughter loves staging the food and plays with it as much if not more than her three year old sister so I think it has a much longer anticipated use span than most may imagine!

Santa bought this for my daughter. Step #2 - Side White shelve holes for screw "barrel nuts" are drilled too deep. When putting together take small chunks of Styrofoam from packing and stuff in hole, then insert the "barrel nut". This will allow you to hold pressure with phillips/straight head head screw driver bit to align the screw and get it into the barrel nut. Hope this helps people in assembly. Hopefully "Melissa & Doug" will fix this in production. Other than that daughter is excited and waiting for daddy to finish assembly. Have fun & Merry Christmas. Walter S. Kessler - Chemical Process Engineer/Process Safety Specialist & "Jack of All Trades" - can fix almost anything.

I am a stay at home mom and was in education prior. This item provides a ton of entertainment to my 2.5 year old daughter and I am sure for my son in the future. It is perfect for all ages. The only issue is that you have to buy all the food to put in it and a cash register so while the store is reasonable in price it can get pricey to fill it. Great for pretend play and if you have a kitchen- great way to go shopping to "cook".

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS ITEM! Got this for my 2 granddaughters (ages 6-years and 20-months). They both love it (and so do all friends children of all ages). Great for group and interactive play with both kids and adults. The 6-year old can easily change awning from grocery store to lemonaid stand and back. The 2o-month old can easily add and remove the bins and the chalkboards for the bins.
