Q: When you say darken finish is it black or is there some expresso brown in the finish as well?

Q: Does the height include the loop extending upward as if it were hanging?

A: The large lanterns full height, with the handle loop extended, is closer to 26", not the 22" that is reported in the description. The top of the large lantern, without counting the loop handle, is approx 22".

These are wonderful lanterns, they are well made, heavy and look great in person. I am also pleased that glass candles can be placed inside the lanterns, so not only do they look marvelous they are practical as well. The color is muted and has a more aged gold tone vs. a bright brass.
