Mickey Mouse: Merry And Scary (DVD)

Our family's favorite new holiday additions!! We absolutely love the Mickey Scary Halloween special. It is a little darker and might be a little scarier for some younger audiences in parts. BUT... the stories really are great for all ages. Just buy it. You will not regret it!

As a big-time Mickey fan, I was interested in seeing these newer animated featurettes. I was very pleased and enjoyed them thoroughly. I would recommend this dvd to anyone looking for more fun stories with the classic Sensational Six cast!!

Bought this DVD and the first season. Great DVD for my family. My 2 and 6 year old love the comedy with all the Mickey characters. They have no interest in the Clubhouse version. Wish they had all other seasons available for purchase. My husband and I love these, we can all laugh and watch together.

Reading the reviews on here is amusing. We watched worst growing up. This specific Mickey collection is fantastic! Sure, it’s a littler dark, and bit out the norm for a Mickey animated series. But it’s fun to watch. Thank u Disney it’s team for going outside of the Clubhouse box, and producing a short series that will surely entertain anyone who doesn’t live within the box. Please make MORE!!!!!!!! Who wants pies?!?!?

If you haven't watched any of the new Mickey Mouse shorts from the last few years, you're in for a treat. These new shorts aren't like the classic Mickey shorts (they feature crisp animation and a more contemporary tone), but they are absolutely fantastic! I watch the shorts with my 3-year-old nephew often, and he enjoys them just as much as I do. This particular disc features both Mickey Mouse holiday specials. I really liked these, as the length allows for more story development than the typical shorts do. There are a few scenes in the Halloween special that may be a bit scary for young children. All kids are different, of course, but it didn't seem over-the-top or gratuitous to me. The Christmas special is an absolute joy! I highly recommend this DVD to any fan of Mickey Mouse.

Horrible. Definitely not the family friendly image you have associated with Disney. We did not expect this type of gruesome imagery...even the Christmas one. Dissatisfied and disappointed!!

The new Mickey Mouse cartoons are fantastic. These holiday specials are no exception. No, they are not like the classic mickey mouse cartoons from our childhood (speaking as a parent on the cusp of turning 40). But frankly, removing the nostalgia factor, those cartoons were not "better" than the newer ones being made today. The animation is fresh and crisp, the dialog is funny and the characters are memorable. The themes in the Christmas and Halloween specials accurately represent the holidays they were made for. I will admit, having characters cooked in pies might be a little "macabre," and some of the Halloween images might be intense for younger viewers, but my 5 year old was laughing out loud during most of the special. Plenty of the "classic" fairy tales that we all "remember and love" have plenty of eyebrow raising themes. Heck, even Disney's own Legend of Sleepy Hollow depicts a Headless Horseman, and that is considered a childhood classic. I generally don't write reviews, but I felt that I needed to provide a different perspective than the 1 star review. These specials, as well as the cartoon shorts, are just plain fun to watch over and over again.
