Batteries are not included. After inserting 2 AA batteries into each of the three switch pieces, I discovered that the Fan Action piece did not work at all with any of the three switch pieces and the Button Switch would not turn off. I bought this for my two years old son. He like turn on/off every switch in my house. This one is perfect fit to keep him busy. Slide, toggle different variation of the type of switch keeps him interested. Great product.

My toddler daughter loves Start-Up Circuits -- making the circuits work, proudly showing us the finished product, and using the devices in new ways (e.g., putting the spinning whistle upside down to watch it rotate on the floor). I picked up Start up Circuits at my local target as i was looking for a new educational toy for my daughter. Box contains 6 colorful plastic parts and an instruction sheet under holder.
