Got replacement remote sooner than promised and it set-up with ease.

Not waterproof. It didn’t even get submerged and it fried itself. Water behind the screen. Insane money to be asking for what it is given it’s not actually waterproof. Are we really struggling to water proof a solid state device here?

Just over two years old remote got moisture inside, and the anchor lock button stuck or broke did not work after that brought it to an authorized Minn Kota dealer. He ran the serial number. Seen lots of other customers with the same problem. this remote has probably only been used 30 times in the last two years.

The remote made it 1 month past the warranty Bad part it's on my pontoon so it was used maybe 15 times. I think it got damp I belive inside and it turns on and does nothing

Minn kota power drive came with the boat I purchased. No issues until I went to go use it today and got rf error which is fatal error. Minn kota, fix your product.

Got this new with the Riptide Terrova and the remote lasted less than one season. I started to loose connection and lock up, and now fails to operate for more than 5 min. It will connect to the motor and work for a short period before showing an error message across the screen. When that happens I loose all control of the motor. I had to download the app on my phone to control the motor. Due to the cost I am not sure if I will buy another.

I'm a full time saltwater fly guide in Western Australia and have been using Minn Kota trolling motors for a decade. When my old motor needed replacing I invested in the newer iPilot model with the redesigned bluetooth remote. It was very disappointing to find that navigation and propeller buttons have been moved from the comfortable position where they were on the previous remote, to the bottom of the remote where the user's thumb has to be tweaked backwards to get access to the most commonly used buttons (even the photos on the website show the user's thumb bent backwards). Bending your thumb backwards to press buttons all day long is painful and not user friendly at all. The remote is completely unintuitive to use. The navigation buttons are surrounded by smaller and less used buttons so if the user presses the wrong button, you have to constantly look at the screen to see what's going on. After using it for 2 months straight every day, I am still finding that the remote is difficult to use and it's impacting the effectiveness of my guiding business moving the boat into position and spotting fish, then taking my eye off the fish to look at the remote. It's also not waterproof as stated. One splash on the remote and there's saltwater under the screen. The three triple A batteries lasted a total of 3 months vs the previous remote which would last 6-9 months on a single battery.

This five star rating is for the customer service I received. Kathy with Minn Kota went above and beyond what I expected to make things right. I am hopeful the failures of the remotes I had are the exception. Looking forward to getting back on the water with the fast response I received. Thank you.

I now having to buy my third remote because of the remote failing. The last one made just over a year. Unreliable and expensive not to last any longer than this

I am a guide in Western NC, and I use my equipment often and hard. My Ultrex remote is integral to the way I fish, and mine went out after two years of constant hard use in a lot of foul weather. Minn Kota immediately got me another in the mail. My ONLY complaint about the product is that there needs to be an indicator arrow on the display of the remote itself. As is, you have to actually look at the trolling motor to tell which direction you are headed, which can be difficult with a boat full of clients.
