Description
The 2nd Seat Kit allows you to expand your stroller as your family grows, and choose from plenty of different two-seat arrangements to accommodate children of all ages (infants, toddlers, and everyone in between). Also, the setup couldn't be easier — snapping on the Kit's adapters and seat takes less than 30 seconds.
The 2nd Seat Kit comes with a Seat, Upper Adapters (to raise your 1st Seat and make room for the 2nd), Lower Adapters (to attach the 2nd Seat), Extendable Canopy, and full-coverage Sunshade. For infant compatibility, you'll want to pair your 2nd Seat Kit with a Carriage, Infant Seat Insert, and/or Car Seat Adapter (and for twins, we recommend using the 2nd Seat Kit with two Infant Seat Inserts or two identical car seats).

A:Â Hi Alisha! The stroller and/or 2nd Seat Kit do not come with our Car Seat Adapter -- it's sold separately on our website.

A:Â No - you have to buy them separately from Mockingbird! They're super easy to use though.

Q: Can my toddler use the seat that the stroller comes with as the second seat while my newborn outgrows the adapter?
submitted by GR - 13 days ago
A: Hi there, Great question! Yes, that is a typical setup. The only thing you'd need to consider about the toddler seat is if your little one can keep their head up unsupported. Since you mentioned they were a toddler, this guidance likely wont apply to you, as it usually happens around 6 months old. If you did want to move your newborn into the toddler seat at some point, we would advise using the Infant Insert until they hit that aforementioned milestone – we hope this helps! Let us know if we can answer anything else.

Q: Does the black canopy come with the windowpane design or the watercolor drops?
Thank you :)
submitted by Karin - 1 month ago
A:Â Hi Karin! Great question, the black canopy sold via target is the windowpane design, as it is one of our most popular combos! If you're looking for the water drop design, you'd need to purchase that via our website.

Q: I know this was kind of asked a few days ago - can I use this seat to REPLACE a tattered seat on a single stroller? I don't want to add a second seat to it, just replace since the canopy is torn.
submitted by BEggs - 2 months ago
A:Â Hi there! If the only issue is the canopy, instead of buying this I'd recommend you reach out to our Customer Experience team and they can help you order a new canopy! You can reach them at hellomockingbird.com/contact.

Q: Can you use second seat and adapter on the Single stroller? Is adapter sized to both single and single to double stroller? I thought I had bought a single to double and found out months later i didn't
submitted by Mom - 2 months ago
A:Â Hi there! That's an understandable question, as the two strollers look very similar when the Single-to-Double is in it's single configuration. That said, you'd only be able to use the Second Seat Kit Adapters on an actually Single-to-Double Stroller, as the dimensions differ from the Single to accommodate the usage and weight of an additional seat.

Q: Do you need to purchase the entire 2nd seat kit if you're just wanting to add on another "seat" for an infant car seat? I don't need the actual seat, just adapters for the infant seat.
submitted by BEggs - 4 months ago
A: Hi there! Great question – we currently only offer the adapters when they're purchased with the additional seat, as this bundle is what makes sense for majority of our Mockingbird parents who are planning on using their stroller from Infant car seat stage until their little one graduates into the Mockingbird toddler seat. We will make sure to pass along your feedback to our product team though!

Q: does the black canopy come with black leather or penny leather?
submitted by Rudy - 8 months ago
A:Â Hi Rudy, At Target, we only offer the penny leather (the brown!) option for the Single-to-Double stroller and 2nd Seat Kit regardless of the canopy color.

Q: how much weight do these seats hold I only see the age range but my son is on the heavier side, I wanna know how long it would last us.
submitted by Selene - 10 months ago
A:Â Hi Selene! Our Stroller can be used up until a child reaches 50 pounds. This is typically age 5 for most children, depending upon their growth rate. If using the Mockingbird Single-to-Double Stroller with two toddler seats at the same time, the weight recommendation is up to 45 lbs in each seat.

Q: Can the car seat trade in coupon be used for this seat?
submitted by Molly - 11 months ago
A: Hi Molly! While the Target team would be the best ones to answer this question, we’ve previously seen Mockingbird parents be able to use many coupons and promotions on Mockingbird products. If a product is excluded from a coupon or promotion, there’s usually fine print indicating this!

Q: Is the second seat kit from Target shipping with the new and improved canopy (4 panels instead of 3), or is this the old version with 3 panels?
submitted by T - 1 year ago
A:Â Hi there! All new Mockingbird strollers and 2nd Seat Kits now come standard with our extendable canopy, which includes 4 panels for added sun protection.
Can’t believe how easy it was to install and get going with our newest addition!

Second seat kit

The seat is attached to the stroller without any issues and I like how there is still some space between the bottom of the seat and the ground. It's important to note that if you are combining bassinet and toddle seat on the same base, you need to put bassinet first. Otherwise, you won't be able to put in the toddler seat. The stroller with two seats becomes quite hard to navigate , but it depends also on the weight of your kids. The major issue that we encountered after stating using the kit is the problem with stroller base. After using both seats for about 2 weeks, one of our front wheels broke in the middle of the street and our older kid fell on the ground and got very scared. We contacted customer support team and were sent the replacement the next business day.

I was worried this was going to be difficult to install but it was happily the opposite. Easy and quick install, I was able to do it in just a few minutes during nap time. And as a mom of 2 under 2 every second counts!! I loved that there were no extra tools needed and it was just a few clicks. The seats are sturdy and I’m not worried about them slipping or moving around.

We just had our second baby and it’s so nice to not have to buy another stroller now. There are some downsides to using it as a double compared to a single. All the weight of the older child (only 25 lbs) is right above the front wheels, which makes it pretty hard to steer. I can imagine if she was a heavier kid it would be even harder. It also doesn’t take bumps in the sidewalk as well. And it’s just big, it takes up a lot of trunk space. But the cons are worth the pros — it’s just very convenient and easy to snap on one seat or both, or attach our infant car seat. It was so quick to install the second seat kit. And altogether a great price compared to different brands for a similar product.

Love this stroller but it is a bit tight with a car seat and the second seat

I have loved pretty much everything about this stroller!! I have a newborn and a toddler and my only complaint is that the car seat and the second seat are really snug. So snug that my toddler really can’t fit in the seat if she is in top which is what mockingbird recommends. She is also only 2 and has almost outgrown the seat! Otherwise, I love the durability, how it folds so easily, the look and the comfort it offers! Just wish the seat was a big bigger and somehow there was a little more space for my toddler.

Inconvenient folding/attachments

Although I LOVE the mockingbird stroller for so many reasons, I was really bummed out that the folding of the stroller with the second seat kit is very inconvenient. Always having to attach/detach the attachments before folding and when getting ready to go is tough. The smaller wheels on the mockingbird make it hard to go over even simple sidewalk bumps when the front is heavier/loaded in weight with a toddler

The second seat kit sent to me was faulty—when adjusting the seat up and down it would catch. However, Mockingbird replaced the seat free of charge and sent a new one quickly. Some configurations with both seats don’t work together seamlessly. The stroller feels very heavy with both seats. It does not fit in the trunk of our SUV with both seats attached. I preferred the stroller better without both seats.

I really love the setup of the 2nd seat kit, it’s very fast and easy. I did NOT but the infant inserts and I’m glad I didn’t because at 2 1/2 months my girls didn’t need them. I wish for the price the kit came w your 2 in 1 stroller, I don’t think we should have to purchase an additional seat for the full price it sells for.

A friend of mine gave me a double stroller but it was so heavy and bulky, I really struggled to get it in and out of the trunk daily. I love how light this stroller is yet so still extremely durable. I definitely recommend and I’m very happy with it thus far.

I love that I can so easily switch between the car seat, the infant lying down, and adding the 2nd seat on for my toddler. The one thing I dont like is the kit puts the 2nd seat too close to the handlebar so it hits my hands and I can't use the stroller organizer/cup holder. I need to get the cup holder that goes on the side now. Other than that, I love the kit!

I absolutely love the second seat kit and it actually made me love the Mockingbird stroller even more than when I had just one seat. I love how easily everything attaches and can be removed in milliseconds without any tools. I frequently change between the double seat configuration when I take both kids or single when I have just one, and it feels effortless. This product is amazing!

This stroller takes up a ton of room in the trunk of our car, we have to take it out prior to grocery shopping or we won't have space. It's huge and very heavy. BUT I love it, my 2 year old and 3 month old are so comfortable and I actually take this stroller everywhere. It is difficult to steer with both seats but like I said I've gotten so much use out of it. I would recommend this stroller to anyone.

The stroller will be perfect for our girls! Love all the options to have them facing including the car seat adapter.

Really love the mockingbird overall, love all the attachments and the below seat storage is huge. Now that we have transitioned to the double, I do find it’s a bit crowded with the infant seat and carriage options. This will get better once both kids are using the standard mockingbird seat.
