The reviews made me a little hesitant to purchase this scooter but I’m glad we did. She’s 7 years old and she loves it! It’s easy for her to ride. Perfect size. She’s been riding it for a couple months now and it still works great. Not sure about the kickstand as she never takes the time to try to use it.

Hi Caren - so happy your 7 year old is rockin' her new Mongoose Force 2.0 scooter!
My son really likes this. He bought one after his younger brother got one but his did not have the kickstand. He gives this four stars because when you turn sometimes the kickstand drags the ground. Also, you have to put the kickstand down with your hand you can’t really kick it with your foot. My son is 11 and said the handgrips seem a little small for an older kid, but they work fine. He says the deck has good grip. All in all, both boys would recommend Mongoose scooters. As a side note, the handlebars so far have not gotten uneven from the wheel (as in twisted sideways) which is a major problem with razor scooters which is the brand both of my sons had before these mongoose scooters.
I received a free Mongoose Force folding scooter to review and I have to say that Imwas greatly impressed with the product. My daughter was very excited when I opened the box and took the scooter out for her to ride. First of all, it is so easy to unfold and ride. That was the most exciting part for my daughter. We were able to unfold it and she was able to jump right on and ride away. It has a kickstand so that it stays upright when she gets off, which is a nice touch so that it doesn't get scratched up from constantly hitting the ground. My daughter thinks it rides smoothly and she was able to keep up with the other kids in the neighborhood while they ride their scooters and bikes. The adjustable handle makes it easy to maneuver the scooter and my daughter felt comfortable enough to steer without fear of taking a tumble. Finally, being able to fold it so that it doesn't take up too much room in storage is my favorite feature. Our home is small and being able to fit it into a small closet is ideal. We are greatly satisfied with this product!
I was sent the Mongoose Scooter to use for this review. My kids were thrilled to open the box and see the scooter. My son told me he likes the color, the handlebars and the kickplate. Scooter was very smooth when riding down our short driveway and cruising down the road. As a parent I appreciated the kickstand the most. We have several scooters in our garage and this is the only one with a kickstand...so helpful keeping the scooter upright and not tripping over it!
I received a free Mongoose Force 2.0 Folding Scooter to test and really like it! It has a smooth ride and feels stable. I do however wish that the handles could pull up a little higher for taller children and it might help if the base of the scooter was a little longer. The shorter base makes it a little more convenient for carrying it, but when riding for a distance there’s not enough room for both feet. Overall this really is great scooter and the blue color was great!
I received this scooter as a free sample in exchange for a review. When I found out I was getting this scooter to review, I was curious to see how this scooter differed from the Razor that my 7 year old already has. To begin, right out of the box it seems very similar. Same construction/design. It's a scooter after all, how different can you get? This being said, the Mongoose looks nicer. The grip tape covers the entire foot area of the scooter, rather than just a small portion and even has a strip over the brake. I really liked this feature. As for everything else, it assembles pretty much the same as a Razor, you really don't even need to look at the instructions, it is pretty self explanatory. The only issue we had was getting it to pop open completely the first time. It took us a good 20 minutes to try and figure out what we were doing wrong. Two adults and one 7 year old later we discovered we just weren't pushing the "unlock" button hard enough. Out of the box this button (for us) was a very hard push. It almost seemed like it was just another bolt and not actually supposed to move. With a bit of work my husband managed to push it in and we finally got the scooter open. Another thing my son really enjoys is the fact that this scooter has a kickstand. I find it to be a neat feature but this kickstand is what MAKES this scooter for my son. He thinks it is the best thing ever, especially since he is the only one who owns a scooter with this feature. Aside from the initial issue with opening the scooter, it is very easy to set up and use. It does take a bit of strength for my 7 year old to push the button to open and close it, but he's determined and usually only asks for help to close it. I would definitely purchase one of these as a gift or for my younger son when he's old enough.
