I have been eating morningstar bacon strips for months now, so I tried cooking it different ways. I find frying it in olive oil comes out the best! I love it! No matter how you cook it, it comes out crisp and very tasty!
Not Plant Based!

I loved this bacon, until I realized it contains egg and milk ingredients. This should not be allowed to be called “plant-based” when it contains animal ingredients. So misleading and extremely disappointing. Can we please have vegan bacon?!

Thank you for your review. MorningStar Farms® Bacon Strips are a vegetarian plant-based meat alternative that contain eggs and milk as listed on our label. The term plant-based is used to differentiate our products from meat-based products. If you are looking for vegan options, please consider one of our vegan Morningstar Farms products.
Claims its plant based. Contains egg and milk.

Morningstar Farms said early in 2019 they would be vegan by the end of 2020. Now it's almost 2025, still not vegan. From what I can see on their website, they have 6 products that are not vegan, yet they claim those products are plant based. They keep telling people they are working on it. Really? 6 products. Why not drop those products if you really care about becoming vegan? If you really care about animals?

What would make a company like Morning Star decide to falsely label this product as plant-based when it is made with eggs? Could it be their customers actually want a plant-based product, but instead of giving the customer what they want they decided to falsely label it. They should fire their marketing person for giving them a bad name and hire another food scientist to create the product customers want!
Egg is not plant based.

This contains Red 3, a known carcinogen that is banned in cosmetics use by the FDA. How is this legal and how do they justify this?

I've been eating these since the mid-to-late 90s, and they have never disappointed me for what they are. They've stayed consistent in flavor and texture, both of which I love when heated through correctly, and they're tasty enough to deal with the sometimes frustrating separation process.

I love the taste and texture of this product, but why use toxic dyes red 3 and yellow 6, when there are natural colors available, such as annato? It doesn't matter if it has two colors like real bacon. I want a delicious AND healthy alternative. Sadly, I won't be eating this unless the toxic dyes are removed.
Taste is exactly like bacon

My expectations were low since the photos make them look like beggin strips so I asked Facebook and no one had anything bad to say, but someone suggested I cook in the oven and WOW… I was blown away by the taste. Did not expect that. Obsessed !
