About this item

  • Features 16 downstream channels

  • Data transfer rate: up to 686 Mbps
The Model MG7540 is a 16x4 686 Mbps DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem with a built-in AC1600 Wi-Fi Gigabit Router. The MG7540 is certified by Comcast XFINITY, Charter, Time Warner Cable, and other cable service providers. Owning the MG7540 eliminates modem rental charges that are often $120 or more per year. The built-in AC1600 Dual Band wireless router provides the range, wireless speeds, and networking support needed to share the Internet connection with smartphones, computers, tablets, , HDTVs and more. 16x4 modem performance means that up to 16 cable data channels carry data from the Internet, 16 times faster than DOCSIS 2.0; and up to 4 channels carry data to the Internet. Integrating the cable modem and router creates a more reliable connection that reduces unwieldy wiring and power adapter clutter while conserving desk space. The vertical design further minimizes shelf space, improves cooling and extends product life while looking great in any home or office. Four 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet ports provide wired connections to computers, HDTVs, game stations, and other Ethernet-capable devices. Router features include an advanced firewall, parental controls, and a browser-based configuration manager. Guest network access gives visitors Internet services while protecting your local network’s private information. Setup is fast and easy. Seven status reporting LEDs allow easy status monitoring. A two year warranty is the longest in the cable modem industry. Experienced USA-based customer support specialists are ready to help if you need them. Best of all, the MG7540 offers the value, performance, and attention to quality that continues to make Motorola the leading brand of cable modem.

Only have this up & running for a week but so far so good, easy setup, except for trying to get Xfinity to recognize the serial # and two phone calls. My devices are much faster now with no interruptions in service, I love having my wifi in one device and my desk is so much neater. Love this modem!see moreof the reviewer's review

Terrible reception... We are in a 700 sq foot apt and even though I am literally staring at the modem while on my laptop, the service is in and out. While it is compatible with Xfinity Comcast - I would NOT recommend due to the constant drop in service.see moreof the reviewer's review

I/We do a lot of TV streaming and Internet cruising. I picked this modem/router combo from about 30 I reviewed. Mainly for these reasons: 1. Good experiences with Motorola modems in the past. 2. Modem/Router combo. Got rid of lots of cables, plugs, power supplies. 3. In stock and same day loc...see moreof the reviewer's review

Don't be fooled by all the 5 star reviews. The wi-fi range is not good at all. I have Xfinity 60mbps internet plan and barely get 2mbps download on second floor in 1750 sq.ft home. Better to have bought separate cable modem and router than a combo device for equal or lesser value. The modem portion ...see moreof the reviewer's review
