Stops charging. My husband has had it for less than a year and it doesn't charge anymore. It'll say it's charging and go down. He's lucky if he wakes up with 30%. Worst investment

Hi momoffour, we're sorry to hear that your device stops from charging. We would like to ask if you are using the original charger that comes with the device. Have you tried to use a different charger? Can you try to leave the phone charging for a few hours and observes if it recovers? Let's do battery calibration, https://en-us.support.motorola.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/136836/~/battery-calibration if it doesn't fix the concern we can reset the device in Safe Mode https://www.motorola-support.com/us-en/?page=topic/reset/safe-mode/device/motorola for other concerns, please send us an email at supportforums@motorola.com. -Ythan

What a shame Motorola! I know that it is a budget smartphone but it definitely could be better. I think it is too slow and the screen is horrible. Even the YouTube icon looks squared. I returned it.
1 reply from Motorola Customer Care team - 10 months ago
Hi Di, We're sorry to know that you're experiencing slowness on your phone. Slow is sometimes caused by too many running apps in the background, use your recent apps button to close apps you're not using. It is also a good practice to restart the device periodically (every 2-3 days) to clear out buffers and memory that may lead to intermittent issues. If the concern persists, kindly go to this link: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/mcp/landing_troubleshooter/g_id/5059> Next > Display/Touchscreen > Phone is slow/unstable and try the recommended steps there. Should there be any further inquiries, please do not hesitate to email supportforums@motorola.com. We'll be glad to help. -Mitch

The "Power" in the name refers to the very long battery life. But what you can't tell from the photo is the long battery inside makes this phone very large. So I'd strongly recommend you see this in person before buying. It's too big to fit properly in most of my pants pockets and very easy to fall out or even be pickpocketed. On the other hand if you need a larger screen than most phones, and struggle with those tiny keys in on-screen keyboard layouts, this could be a good choice. The phone is packed with an impressive list of tech features which can be Googled. Kudos to the manufacturer for providing a 3.5mm headphone jack (and recent Bluetooth) and standard USB C charging. Charger included. Phone is not waterproof, but is water resistant. The overall construction is quite decent. 64GB is plenty unless you are downloading movies. And there's a slot where can insert standard MicroSD memory cards for as much as 1TB or more. The phone is made in China. The mobile phone division of Motorola is now wholly owned by Lenovo, which is based in China. Sound and picture quality is good. It's also a good choice for international users as it works in many wireless bands. It is a standard single-SIM phone. It's partly at a good price because it's 4G which is plenty fast for everyday purposes. I can't comment on the video and gaming experience as I don't use them, but the phone worked out fine for a Zoom call. The screen is fast and no lagging noticed even with many apps open. There is a spot on the back for fingerprint recognition but it doesn't work well at all, even after cleaning. Very frustrating to use. The Motorola skin of Android on this phone is pretty good. Not too bothersome with notifications and unwanted software. What is there can be mostly be deleted or disabled if you want. One perk I love is that you can quickly shake the phone to turn on the flashlight, which is quite bright. It ships with Android 12 and you can update to Android 13. As with any phone requires many downloads and restarts. It can not, per Motorola, ever be updated beyond Android 13. If you can get over the bulky dimensions, this phone is really loaded with features that would make it a fantastic purchase. But one reason I didn't give it a higher rating because of its it has planned obsolescence built in: it cannot take the Android version 14 to be released in 2023. More concerning is the software only comes with 2 years of Android security updates *from the date of production*, so it's only a year or so left at time of this writing, and the clock is ticking. So after a year or so, this phone could be vulnerable to new hacking and security breaches. Considering all of our personal contacts, typing history, app data, payment and financial data on the phone, this is very concerning. And it has a large non-replaceable battery. This means either due to software or hardware design, the whole unit may need to be replaced after a couple of years and end up being more landfill e-waste. I would like to see Motorola step up and offer a longer system update and security update cycle on this and its other phones. Other manufacturers offer 3 years of security updates, for example.

I purchased this Motorola G Power during a Black Friday since I urgently needed a cheap replacement phone. It satisfies all of my requirements for the price it costs. Although interestingly enough, my G Pure's battery life lasted longer? The camera performs well, and the phone does most of the tasks I need it to do better than my Pure. The processor's biggest flaw is that it can be slow at times. Overall, a good phone for the price.

I ugraded from a 2021 Moto G Play and the battery on that was awesome. My main reason for upgrading was for the camera on the Power and the claim to great battery life. My battery is nearly dead at the end of the day. I don't spend a lot of time on my phone, so I don't understand why it's draining so fast. My previous phone lasted days. This one, nope.
