Go more than a full day on a single charge, then get hours of power in just minutes of charging. Watch your entertainment come alive on a screen that spans from edge to edge. Never miss a great shot with a camera that focuses as fast as you do. Get all the speed you need with a 1.4 GHz octa-core processor** and 3 GB of RAM.
I've purchased 2 Z3 Play's, a 64 gb and a 32 gb, both have the same problem. Since updating to Android 9 both have power button issues. When I press the power button to lock the phone it often reads it as a double press and tries to turn on Google assistant, or it will react slowly to the button press, meaning I press it and it takes a couple of seconds for the screen to actually go off and to lock. If I don't wait for the screen to go off and accidentally press an app when putting it in my pocket then it will stay awake. Pretty sure this can be fixed with an update because it only happened after an update. Before Android 9 the power button worked like a normal power button, now it's so annoying I switched back to my Z2 Play.
I had this phone for a few months now and had nothing but problems, especially the battery, drains after less than one day with minimal usage. The phone also freezes up, lags when going from portrait to landscape. The phone is also slow when streaming music. I have had 4 moto phones before this one and had no issues. Next phone will definitely be another brand. Shame on Motorola for releasing this junk phone !!
I had bought one of these when they first came out. Dropped too many times to count and finally turned my lil fella into a brick. I have many more. The jbl speaker and battery packs are especially a fondness to me. I'm buying 2 more at this price just to have on hand to use with the fantastic mods. I could buy any phone but I come back to this because of the mods and the phone together make magic.
The 6 inch screen is what i really like on this phone. Absolutely notch-free. I'm used to no 3.5mm jack since i use a separate device to listen to music. the battery of 3000mAH is a step up from my z2 Force with just 2700mAH, which i couldn't take anymore. And best way to conserve battery on any phone is disabling any switches like cellular/wifi/bluetooth/location/scanning) you're not using till you need it again. Oh, and I've switched over from a long time of using Windows. At least i can use the Launcher 10 app with this. :) Also moto actions like one button nav, and lift to unlock. Another tip. always keep your phone updated, especially to the latest firmware, which is 9 Pie. And for screen, I tend to keep it on standard instead of vibrant to save on battery.
This phone was all great and well for the month I had it. It performed smoothly and how I wanted it to. However, it's not built well. I expect a phone to still work after falling from waist height onto the ground, but after my phone fell with its otterbox and screen protector, the screen went wonky and then pretty much black. This is the only time I dropped it. Perhaps I should have bought the extra protection plan, but, still, I expect a phone to survive such a minor fall with the extra protection I provided it. I would only recommend this phone if you are someone who never drops anything.
I bought this phone 5 months ago and I was amazed by the camera right away. I did get the Hassleblad camera mod as well and most of the time the phone takes better pictures unless you need to zoom in then the optical zoom of the mod works better. Now to the cons. This phone freezes up often and just last night froze up while just playing music in the car. The screen went black and the phone was completely unresponsive then I held down the power button and got the phone to shutdown but it will not power up now and when I plug in the charger it doesn't even show its charging. So my phone is totally dead now, I'm typing this review on my 4 year old Moto X Pure. Good thing I kept my old phone and and honestly liked it better and feel the Z3 was a downgrade. I love Motorola phones and I really hope mine is just a lemon and this is not just how all the new phones are.
