Yes this makes coffee..cold weak coffee. Because of the low brewing temperature, I tried adding more grounds but it was no help, it's just not hot enough to extract full coffee flavor. I tried using just the plastic filter (way to much sediment), paper filter, combination plastic/paper, nothing worked...cold & weak. Now the carfe with this thing dribbles like a teething baby! As other have mentioned the condensation builds up on the lid and when pour it runs around the edge and down the outside of the carfe. I wound up keeping a kitchen towel close by to wipe it every time...arg. Oh yeah expect a little water to run down the outside of the unit when you open the top lid. It is a good looking unit and it's simplicity (which is probably it's downfall) drew me to it, not to mention it's price (trying to save a few bucks). I returned it and give TARGET 5 STARS for the no-hassle return! I then ponied up the extra $40 bucks and purchased the Cuisinart DC-1200 like the one I had used for 12 years. I am a wide awake happy camper again.

Poor quality

Purchased 2/17 and broke this morning (3/23). Turns on but won't brew and doesn't get hot. For the short time it was still functioning it worked just fine. But unfortunately I can't recommend a product that fails so quickly. Very disappointing.

It is slow, the carafe does not pour without spilling, no matter how I try to hold it! I have had Mr. Coffee systems in the past at home and in my office and they were great! This system is going to get tossed!

I bought this maker loving the idea of the filter in the water reservoir. The first time cleaning I couldn’t get the maker to turn back on even after unplugging. After a week I decided to plug it back in and it worked. Now cleaning #2 same issue and on a Sunday when customer support is closed. Very disappointed

I've had several mr. Coffee pots in my life. And I'm 68 years old. I cannot understand for the life of me why you can't make the pot a little more substantial. Just a little bit, not a lot. This coffee pot I bought a little over a year ago I think and this is my third replacement pot because they break if you look at them. This last time I honestly don't remember hitting anything with it, I was very careful with it and this morning I put the pot in sudsy water and I left the sink only to return to an empty pot...
