We bought this unit about a year ago, used it pretty much only on weekends, nice while it worked, but it didn't last long! The Milk Frother Unit clogs up very very easily with its very small aperture, Impossible (thus far) to find a replacement part for the Frother Head Unit ... one would think that as easily as these clog and difficult/impossible to really clean that they would at least sell replacement parts for them ... but No! My advice ... spend a little more and buy a better-quality unit than this "cheap" option. You'll be buying a nother unit when this one fails in a year or so anyway. Cheap quality ... cheap price!

Thank you for reaching out to Mr. Coffee®. We appreciate your time and effort in bringing this to our attention. We are sorry to hear that the Milk Frother clogs up. No worries, we are here to help. Although you can store the milk reservoir with leftover milk in the refrigerator, it is important to clean the reservoir and frothing tube regularly to avoid clogging and residue build-up. To clean the milk reservoir, please follow the instructions listed below: 1. Remove the milk reservoir from the unit by lifting the milk reservoir release button and simultaneously sliding the milk reservoir out. 2. Remove the lid of the reservoir. 3. Dispose of any milk left, then rinse and wash the milk reservoir and its lid thoroughly with warm soapy water. Make sure to rinse and dry them well. Do not use abrasive cleaners and scouring pads, as they will scratch the finish. Note: The milk reservoir is also dishwasher safe (top rack). Do not place the lid of the milk reservoir in the dishwasher. 4. Fill the milk reservoir with water, not above the MAX fill line. Place the milk reservoir back onto the unit, lifting the reservoir release button and simultaneously sliding the milk reservoir in, holding the reservoir by the lid. 5. Place a large empty cup under the froth dispensing tube. 6. Turn the Froth Control Knob counterclockwise to the clean position then press the Clean button to activate the clean function. The unit will start releasing steam through the froth dispensing tube. Let the cleaning cycle run until you no longer see any milk coming out of the tube, or let the cycle run until it stops automatically. 7. Dispose of any water left in the milk reservoir and place it back in the unit. You should feel the milk reservoir lock in place. Your Mr. Coffee® One-Touch CoffeeHouse Espresso and Cappuccino Machine has a 1-year limited warranty. If this doesn't resolve your issue, we'd kindly request that you contact us directly so we can determine the best resolution. Have a good day! https://www.mrcoffee.com/support/contact-us

Broke Down Shortly After a Year

Bought this machine October of last year, now it's November and it's broken. Won't draw milk from the tank. Very rarely I have had home appliance break down so early. It's so disappointing.
1 reply from Mr. Coffee team - 2 years ago
Thank you for reaching out to Mr. Coffee®. We are sorry to hear that your espresso maker won't draw milk from the tank. That is certainly not the experience we want you to have. No worries, we are here to help. The possible reason for this issue is that the espresso maker might be having a build-up of mineral deposits, which will affect the operation of the appliance. For a possible fix, we advise you to try the following: To Delime Water Reservoir: 1. Fill the reservoir with fresh, undiluted white household vinegar. 2. Allow the appliance to sit overnight with the vinegar solution in the water reservoir. 3. Discard vinegar by removing the reservoir and turning it upside down over the sink. 4. Rinse the water reservoir thoroughly with tap water by filling the tank half full with water and then pouring the water back out into the sink, repeating this step twice. To Delime Internal Parts: 1. Make sure you delime the inside of the water reservoir first by following the Deliming steps above. 2. Make sure to switch the on/off button to the off position and the power cord is disconnected from the electrical outlet. Fill the reservoir with undiluted white household vinegar. 3. Insert the porta-filter (with filter and no coffee) and place a large empty cup on top of the drip tray and under the porta-filter. 4. Plug the power cord into the electrical outlet. 5. Press the on/off button to switch the unit on, once the 2 control panel lights (Espresso heater and Steam heater) turn solid press the Automatic Espresso Button twice. The vinegar will start flowing through the unit and it will stop automatically. 6. Place a large empty cup (with at least 325 mL/ 11 fl. oz. capacity) under the frothed milk dispensing tube. Fill the milk reservoir with water and place it back on the unit. Turn the Froth Control Knob counterclockwise to the clean position then press the Clean button to activate the clean function. Let the cleaning cycle run until you no longer see any milk coming out of the tube, or let the cycle run until it stops automatically. 7. Repeat Steps 1 – 6 as necessary using only tap water to rinse any remaining traces of vinegar out of the machine. Your espresso maker has a 1-year limited warranty. If this doesn't resolve your issue, we highly suggest that you visit the nearest service center or appliance center in your location to have your espresso maker checked and possibly fixed. We hope this helps. Have a nice day! https://www.mrcoffee.com/support/contact-us

On advice from the support team, I tried to run the priming cycle several times - even removed porta-filter- until the unit finally started leaking lots of hot water from underneath the base. Save your time and money!

Thank you for reaching out to Mr. Coffee®. We are sorry to hear that your espresso maker is not working. That is certainly not the experience we want you to have. No worries, we are here to help. If your Mr. Coffee® pump espresso maker is not brewing, remove the portafilter, wipe down the shower head to make sure nothing is clogged or stuck, then check to see if you can run the brew cycle without the porta-filter in place. If water comes through without the portafilter, the portafilter might be the issue. If water still does not come through, there may be an issue with the espresso maker. About a week into having this, the portafilter would literally pop of the machine. It didn't matter how tightly I put it on, and it was properly secured too. My roommates were having the same issue. Seems strange after one week the machine had difficulty working.

No replacement this time; not under warranty. I am sad because it made great cappuccinos, but I won’t be buying another one. Can’t stand the heartbreak when it stops working.

Thank you for reaching out to Mr. Coffee®. We are sorry to hear that your espresso maker is not working. That is certainly not the experience we want you to have. No worries, we are here to help. If your espresso maker is not working, it might be because the unit is not getting enough power from the wall outlet where it is currently plugged in or the wall outlet itself is a non-working outlet. To remedy this issue, check if there is no physical damage on its cord and if there's none, try unplugging the coffee brewer. Let the unit rest for 3-5 minutes. Then, plug it into a different wall outlet. Do not use it with any extension cords, power strips, and power converters or inverters as it may affect the espresso maker's performance. Also, make sure that all parts and accessories are properly inserted. Otherwise, it might cause the product not to work properly. I bought this 2 years ago and it worked great. I would make lattes frequently or simply just use the frother option (my favorite). However, about a year in, the frother would struggle to pump in the milk. I would hear the pump but it would struggle to disperse milk. My coffee machine has sat for the last 6 months since becoming pregnant and having severe nausea, but this morning I tried to revisit it and now none of the settings are working. Really disappointed.

Thank you for reaching out to Mr. Coffee®. We are sorry to hear that you can't make a good coffee drink in this Mr. Coffee® One-Touch CoffeeHouse Espresso and Cappuccino Machine. That is certainly not the experience we want you to have. No worries, we are here to help. Please note that the coffee should be freshly ground and dark roasted. You may want to try a French or Italian roast ground for espresso. Pre-ground coffee will only retain its flavor for 7 – 8 days, provided it is stored in an airtight container and a cool, dark area. Do not store it in a refrigerator or freezer. Whole beans are recommended to be ground just before use. Coffee beans stored in an airtight container will preserve the flavor for up to 4 weeks. We hope this helps. Have a good day!

For first 2 1/2 years it made excellent lattes, cappucinos and expressos. But cycles got mixed up and nearly filled coffee cup with milk. After trying numerous cycles including clean cycles and unplugging 10 times hopefully to reset the electronics, it no longer will make lattes or cappucinos. Now it will only make expressos. There's something messed up in the electronics related to the milk cycle. Very disappointed.

My husband and I bought this several months ago and love the machine. However, I can't recommend it because it doesn't seem to be possible to obtain replacement parts. When I accidentally threw out the removable coffee filter basket, it took me weeks to find a similar one online (not actually a Mr. Coffee part). Then we lost the Milk frothing Tube Guide Lever and dispensing tube, which are removable for cleaning. Unfortunately, those parts don't seem to be available for purchase anywhere. Since the milk function doesn't work at all without those parts, the machine is basically useless.

lot of issues for an expensive machine. 1st the small filter does not seem to fit into the portafilter or brew head. It's so hard to turn into place when I use the small filter but works fine with the large 2 serving size. My biggest problem is that the milk container pops away from the machine when I start a pre-programmed mode. I have to constantly push it back into place, that's really annoying and must be a malfunction.

Milk side of machine lasted just beyond warranty period. No significant parts available, so it you want warm, frothed milk as part of your coffee drinks, you have to throw away and buy new one. 800 number support answers calls but cannot provide much more than advice on how to clean machine. Parts website does not even show the model, so it's a shame Mr. Coffee sells a product that user cannot fix.

Thank you for contacting Mr. Coffee®! We sincerely appreciate your time reaching out and giving us your honest feedback and experience about your Mr. Coffee® One-Touch CoffeeHouse Espresso and Cappuccino Machine. We are sorry to hear you're having difficulties frothing your milk. This is certainly not the experience we want you to have. No worries, we are here to help. For a possible fix, kindly check the following: Make sure you use fresh, cold milk. Skim milk works best for frothing. Use a stainless steel frothing pitcher, and ensure that it is cool before using. Make sure the water reservoir is full. Try moving the frothing pitcher slightly up and down while frothing. The frothing tube needs to be cleaned after every use. First, fill the frothing pitcher with water, and run the steaming feature for twenty seconds. If steaming tube is blocked, use a toothpick to unblock it. Then, steam the water for another 30 seconds. Your espresso maker has a year limited warranty. If this doesn't resolve your issue, we'd like to kindly request that you contact us directly in order to help you get to the best resolution. We hope this helps. Have a good day!
