  • A: Another reason it will overflow is if you accidentally have two paper filters stuck together. That will not allow the coffee to flow through fast enough and will overflow.

Please try to perform the troubleshooting technique below. - Insert filter basket correctly. - Place the decanter correctly on the warming plate - Place the lid on the decanter properly - Remove filter and discard grounds. If you are using a paper filter, replace it. If you are using a permanent filter, rinse it properly. - Begin the brew process again - Turn off and unplug the unit. Disappointing brew

After a short use, the coffee maker steams more of the water than it brews. Pouring a full 12 cup water into the reservoir brews less than 8 cups of coffee. It has been cleaned, brewed on strong and regular and a full pot of coffee is not brewed.

Broke down after 5 months. However, if you go on Mr. Coffee website you can get a new one because there is a 1 year warranty. I was able to get a better one because I did not want the same one.

Worst coffee pot I've ever had. It work ok if you're just making 4-6 cups, but if you want a while pot it's terrible. All the water pools in the filter which causes overflow and a lot of grounds in your cup. Definitely getting returned.

I have used coffee machines all across the board and this has to be my least favorite to date, the brew tastes like water even on strong so I have to double the grinds. It makes a LOUD popping sound when brewing and takes forever to brew a cup. Furthermore, it’s a mess, water and coffee everywhere. I sincerely urge you ti purchase either a cheaper Mr Coffee or a different machine all together. I regret having purchased this. Though maybe this is the incentive I need to get a French press or something of that nature to have a good bold flavored cup. Leaving off with this; after having purchased 1 Mr coffee that broke after a year and this one, I will be purchasing yet another coffee device. The pricing of all 3 coffee machines/devices would have been best if invested into one better/more expensive machine.

I have used Mr. Coffee makers for nearly 40 years. So the negative comments did not dissuade me. But I definitely should have heeded the warnings. We woke up this morning to coffee all over the counters, floor and under the appliances. What a disaster! Can’t say I wasn’t warned! I am seriously disappointed in this purchase and sure hope Mr. Coffee can correct these problems and make a coffee maker we can trust again! Meanwhile, I guess I will set my coffee maker inside the sink before brewing…just in case.

Coffee doesn't drain fast enough through filter and over flows! I have used three different filters, paper and reusable. Doesn't happen all the time but often. I also have cleaned numerous times. I should have returned it long ago! Don't buy!

Utter garbage. My husband bought it at Target this afternoon and I am sending him back tonight to return it and buy a Ninja. it wobbles. the displays are clunky and hard to use. The clock is nearly impossible to see. We bought it because we had a Mr Coffee we actually liked but they discontinued the model and clearly their quality has declined the past few years. just read the other reviews.

When you put the pot in the perfect position the coffee maker is great. 3 times we thought it was in correctly when we set it up for the morning, but it wasn't and there was coffee grinds and water spilled all over the counter. If pot placement is off by even 1/8", you'll have a big mess to clean up. Definitely the worst designed Mr Coffee we have ever purchased. We are putting it back in the box as a back up.

This coffee maker heats the coffee up nice and warm. it does not drip onto the hot plate so the hot plate stays clean. it takes no time to make a pot.

I have hated this coffee pot since we got it. No matter how much I clean it for some reason it always bred 2-3 cups less than the water I put in there. We’ve had it about a year and I accidentally dropped and shattered the carafe. I’m not sad that I have to go buy a new coffee pot. It did work for the most part though, but nothing special. There’s no way to clean certain areas of it though.

Steam Everywhere & malfuncting

Started malfunctioning after a few days (never making more than 10 cups of coffee from 12 cups of water) and spewed steam everywhere. Within a few weeks, the steam has broken the digital clock and had rendered the buttons unresponsive. So disappointed considering the cost!

That is certainly not the experience we want you to have. No worries, we are here to help. The possible reason for this issue is that the coffee maker might be having too much condensation. Also note that you may lose 1/2 to 1 cup of coffee during the brewing process, as some of the water liquid stays in the coffee grounds and/or evaporates. To lessen too much evaporation, check if everything is properly locked in place, most especially the coffee maker lid. Your Mr. Coffee® Rapid Brew 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker has a 1-year limited warranty. Clock does not light up

I bough this to replace my trusty (12 years old) old Mr. Coffee machine that finally quit on me. What a shock to see that the clock does not light up! Setting the time and the delay is difficult to see but worse, I can no longer just glance at it to see the time. I cannot tell you how many times I did that with the old maker. And it was nice to see the time in the dark kitchen every morning. Why on earth would you think making this NOT light up is an improvment?

Coffee grounds always in the Coffee

If the brew basket is overflowing, it could be caused by the following: - Are you using soft water and decaf coffee? - When was the last time the coffee maker was cleaned? We recommend cleaning after 40 brews of hard water (every three weeks if used 2 times a day) and after 80 brews of soft water (every 6 weeks if used 2 times a day). Please clean with vinegar using the instructions in the manual. - The brew basket may be damaged. Check the piece under the basket to ensure it is intact. - Too many filters may have been used. We recommend using one filter. - Finely ground coffee (all methods of brewing coffee) may be too fine. We recommend using standard ground drip coffee. - Filter basket not properly inserted into unit or has fallen in on the side. To prevent this, dampen the top edge so that the filter sticks to the side, or use a permanent filter. - Decanter away more than 30 seconds (pause and serve) Your coffee maker has a 1- year warranty, If the above resolution will not work please contact us directly to provide the best resolution. I liked it but had toreturn it only because the lights are too bright and I can't see the clock, otherwise I would have kept it. The stainless steel and black are gorgeous and matched the other counter top appliances perfectly. My old Mr. Coffee stopped working after 15 years of daily service and unfortunately that model is not longer made. I'll miss the large, round clock with green background and the analog look to the clock which I could see from the other side of the kitchen, and the brew later and bokd brew lights weren't too bright.
