These were the worst croutons that I have ever eaten. I don't pride myself as a crouton connoisseur, but I've had my fair share of croutons over the years, and these Archer Farms croutons are terrible. First of all, there isn't a whole lot of taste. Very bland. Secondly, when you actually chew them, they are very gritty. There are large pieces of I don't know what that don't actually break down from chewing. Someone sharing these croutons with me thought that she had chipped a tooth! It turned out to be a large piece that wouldn't break down. This brand of croutons won't be purchased again by me. I hope I have saved someone reading these comments about croutons the $1.60 that I wasted.
These were the only croutons available at my nearby Target in los angeles California.
They say "large cut" but to me they are the same size as most croutons i've seen. I popped them on my salad to discover utter disappointment... No taste & very gritty to chew on! (Best by date says good until a year from now!)
Also, most of my "large cut" croutons were just slivers which made them even more unpalatable. I have made 4 salads using the croutons sparingly, & I can see the bottom later of my bag is just crumbs!
Very disappointed, even for under $2 it's not worth the money for this product.
I am only reviewing these because I see there are two one-star reviews. I am SO thankful Target carries these! My local grocery stores do not carry multigrain croutons. I love these! I am unsure why the others have give such negative feedback, because I can eat these straight out of the bag.
I like many things from the Archer Farms brand, but these multigrain garlic & herb croutons are by far the worst croutons I've ever eaten. I just bought the bag today because they were cheap and the only croutons in stock (pretty much looked like they were untouched, three rows of 'em) at this particular Target. They taste so bad that I'll probably have to throw them out, which I rarely do. Please avoid these croutons, fellow customers. And to Archer Farms, please get rid of these or upgrade your recipe.
After trying one of these I picked them all out of my salad. To me they taste like dog food. My husband also packed himself a salad for work and when I asked him what he thought of this product he said "They were like chewing sand that was hot glued together". I didn't even taste garlic. Yuck.
