Q: how do you clean the mesh bag?? I put bananas in it and couldn't get it clean.

submitted by debbie8001 - 5 years ago
  • A: Hello, The Munchkin Fresh Food Feeder is first and foremost top rack dishwasher safe. As well, if you find that you are getting food stuck in the net the best way to remove it is with a soft bristled tooth brush. You can also soak the net in warm soapy water with a table spoon of vinegar to help dissolve and remove the pieces of food left/build up in the net.

I like the concept, but these are impossible to open. Impossible. I opted for a silicone feeder on Amazon.

Just don’t. The mesh is impossible to clean. You can’t even take it out and replace it. The only other option in store is a silicone feeder, Amazon has way more to choose from.

My baby loved it! Made me feel less nervous giving her fruit and she was able to enjoy the flavor. I read a lot of reviews about hard to wash after the first use but if you just rinse it immediately after use comes off no problem!

Wanted to love these, but had to throw them out after the second use. They are impossible to clean. No amount of soaking & scrubbing helped. Instead, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND OXO TOT Silicone Self feeders on Amazon, as they come apart to clean and are a better material for cleaning overall.

My 8 month old would bite through the silicone so I tried the mesh. The holes were not big enough and the area was too thick where the seams met. It’s durable but that is the only perk.

I love the idea of these and it’s all my baby would eat from for a while, but they are very hard to clean. They came out of the dishwasher still dirty several times - tried rinsing first, turning inside out, etc.

This works great for introducing fruits/ vegetables for your infant. I honestly think it gets moldy for people who don’t clean it right away because I have never experienced any mold. I make sure to clean it right after my baby is done using it he absolutely loves it and it’s great for teething his favorite is watermelon and he gets so happy and does his happy feet dance whenever he sees it.

It holds food great and allows baby to easily enjoy finger foods. However, the mesh itself is extremely difficult to clean to ensure it doesnt grow mold. I tried these today and im not sure i will use them again after seeing how difficult and tedious it is to clean. I thought the part that held the food was a plastic like material. My mistake for not reading reviews to see and ordering online. Regret purchasing.

The concept is awesome but they’re impossible to clean after first use. The seams get loaded with gross gunk even after washing or dishwashing and we just didn’t feel comfortable continuing to use them

I originally bought the dr browns silicone version of this (which was fine) but I do really like this one more. My son can learn to chew better on this as it isn’t as stiff as a silicone one. A teeny bit harder to clean but worth it.
