Description

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

A historical novel about the life of Csar Gmez Hernndez, one of the masterminds of the Granma expedition. During the Fulgencio Batista dictatorship, Fidel Castro came into Cuba with his revolution, and once Castro took power, Csar Gmez Hernndez had to leave and exile in Mexico for being part of Castro's opposition.

In 1956 Csar Gmez Hernndez was aboard the famous Granma along with Fidel and Raul Castro, Che Guevara, and seventy-eight other revolutionaries seeking to free the country from US intervention and to end the horrors of the Batista government.

In this moving and intense novel, Oscar Vela as a protagonist narrates the story behind the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro's regime, and what Castro meant for the revolutionaries who joined him in the overthrow of Batista.
