This bin looks great on the counter and is big enough to fit a lot of kitchen waste for compost. The filter in it works great and there is no smell. Love it!

Don’t recommend!! After a few months I kept seeing puddles on the floor and come to find out I look and there’s rust and a whole on the bottom of the bin. Totally useable now! Don’t buy

I bought this compost bin about 3 months ago, and then noticed that food waste was leaking out of the bottom of the bin, creating a sticky circle on my counter consisting of rotting waste. I do not recommend buying this bin.

This compost bin is so nice! Looks great! Holds enough that I don’t need to empty daily. The vents and filter keep insects out and airflow in! Lid comes off easy enough, hands can be full and not have to fidget with lid. I used to use an old lettuce clamshell for my compost and was against buying one “why?, I would say, when I have these clamshells”. Was reluctant when partner wanted this so it’d look nicer in the counter. Should have sooner!

Though from the look of it, this is a pretty nice compost bucket. In practice, it falls well short. One would think the lid being such a tight fit is a plus. Afterall, who wants a sticky compost bucket leaking odors? Am I right? Well, I am not going to say I am the strongest guy on the block, but it takes a good tug to separate the lid from the pail. I have learned that with a sharp tug, you can get it open on the first try, this really only works about 60% of the time. Now that you have it open you have to put the lid back on. Well, because of the tightness of the lid, you have bang it sharply to seat the lid. Now, remember the value of keeping the smells in the bucket? Well, the filter would help with this, except there is only the smallest lip on the lid to keep in place. Guess what happens when you rap the lid to get it to seat? Yep, you guessed right, the filter falls into the unfortunate mess inside. So, not only does it not keep the smells from escaping, in short order it is an active participant. I have tried all sorts of things to get this be the bucket of my dreams. It just isn't going to happen. Maybe it will make a good garden bucket.

I really like the can, and there has definitely been ZERO smell, and I've left stuff in there for well over a week. The compostable bags though...they rip as soon as you try to just spread t hem to put into the can. I understand they have to be flimsy to compost easily, but it's a little like having nothing at all. So, can: 4+, bags 2.

It’s a great compost bin and the filters keeps the smell out well. Only three stars though because they no longer sell the filter replacements and it’s pretty difficult to get them elsewhere too.

Bought the stainless steel compost bin for my wife 6 weeks ago, and the steel is so bad it deteriorated from the outside. Noticed a little black spot on the outside after a few weeks when washing, and it got bigger until you could see light coming through to the inside. Tried to contact Natural Home Brands, but their phone tree goes in a circle with no answer, except after hours when it tells you they are closed.

Love the size, and that has a lid with filter, so there's no smell coming out. The handle is also handy. My only dislike is that is already showing some rust, after using it only for a month and a half. Got it to avoid plastic, but maybe it wasn't the best option.

I love how it looks, I can leave it on the countertop, and keeps smells confined really well!! So happy with this purchase. Also very easy to clean compared to the other type target also sells that I’ve used before

It fits well on the countertop, and I love that it’s easily accessible and helps us reduce landfill waste. We purchased highly-rated compost bags that coordinate with this size bin, and replaced them every two days, cleaned, and dried the inside between uses. Unfortunately, the inside rusted within two weeks. I returned this item because it didn’t seem that it would last. Countertop compost bins seem terribly, overpriced and this one is no exception for the quality.

Not a great product. The labeling in store is comical to start with: it says it's made of bamboo. This is a lightweight copy of a very similar product I bought about 10 years ago. The 10-year-old one finally failed after years of hard use. This one I bought in early December and has already broken in just about a month of normal use: there is a pinhole leak in it near the bottom. I'd categorize this as a knock-off designed to save money and sell at a cheaper price--but by delivering a product that is not durable and will not stand up. I'm disappointed at the quality and urge buyers to avoid this if you want something that will last.

This is a great compost bucket. I think a lot of compost buckets try to over-do it by giving you plastic bags and buckets inside the buckets and what not, but the reality is, you need something with a lid, something that will contain the smell and will wash easily. This does all of those things. I've had this compost bin for about 4 months now and she's still going strong, no stains, and the plush filler in the lid is still keeping the smells inside the bucket.
