A: The FDA does not approve supplements, they only monitor reports about them. This is true for this and every other supplement on the market.

A: This product is not vegan. The Alive! Tablet and capsule formulas do contain gelatin. The gelatin is derived from a combination of both pork and beef, in both formulas. The Vitamin A (as retinyl acetate) is encapsulated with this combination of gelatin to help stabilize the vitamin.

There’s zero reason this multivitamin needs titanium dioxide which is banned in Europe. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) lists it in its Group 2B, “possibly carcinogenic in humans.” It has also been petitioned to be banned in the US by health organizations as well but the FDA has yet to respond. You could do the right thing for your consumers by using something more natural for color instead. I have been using this product for years but won’t again until questionable ingredients are removed. Americans are waking up and we’re sick of companies putting toxic ingredients in products. Just because you can get away with it for now doesn’t mean you should.

I need a multivitamin with no artificial colors due to severe allergies. I was thrilled to finally find Alive! But it took me thirty minutes to get the devilish child resistant cap off. I finally pried off the lid with pliers on one; the other had to be stabbed with a screwdriver and cut open with a serrated knife. At this point, I’ll take the contents, but will search for another vitamin brand when they are finished.
