Nerf continues to go above and beyond with their blasters they are not shy with technology nor do they plan to stop. I am a BzzAgent and received this product for free and my 11 year happily took it for a test run. My son loved playing with the blaster but my poor little pug was the object a few times with this blaster. Each time he hears the motor rev up he hides. My son was able to take pictures of his hits, videos of him marksmanship which is great. The tricky part is the mechanics of the gun, a soft touch goes a long way. When inserting the cartridge, the way to depress the switch to remove and loading the darts, if not it gets stuck the barrel. The motor it is a light by pressing three time with a light touch. Before shooting your darts check to confirm the sliding panel above the barrel is closed. The way you can know is there will be a slight click when closed and if not heard, try again slide it. Once the panels is closed, batteries in both side and SD in, depress the accelerator the motor will start after 15 seconds. Then take aim at your target and shoot.
