A: Thank you for your question. Functionally both models perform the same. Both models are Vertuo machines and compatible with the Nespresso VertuoLine capsules. Also, both machine models use Centrifusion™ technology which allows the preparation of a smooth coffee with a high-quality aromatic richness, combined with a high intensity and body and finished off by a silky and generous crema. The differences are just the aesthetics of the machine. One main difference is that the Vertuo has a locking mechanism for the 'head' of the machine, that you have to manually lock and unlock, while the VertuoPlus has a lever you tap up to open and tap down to close automatically. A: Starbucks by Nespresso capsules for VertuoLine are compatible with all Nespresso Vertuo machines. We are aware that some companies are manufacturing capsules that appear to be compatible. We do not test the compatibility of competitors’ products with our machines; therefore we cannot comment on this. You may decide to use non-Nespresso capsules in your Nespresso machine. The use of capsules others than those of Nespresso doesn’t invalidate the warranty. However, we are glad to tell you about the perfect interaction between Nespresso capsules and Nespresso machines, which is the essence of our system.

A: For the Vertuo machine, we have four sizes to choose from, with multiple blends and intensities. The Vertuo makes: Espresso (1.35 oz), Double Espresso (2.7 oz), Gran Lungo (5 oz), and Mug (7.77 oz). Carafe (18 oz) sized capsules are exclusive to the Vertuo Next machine and will not fit inside the Vertuo, Evoluo or VertuoPlus machines.

My husband has this at his family home and we use it when staying there to make coffee. The coffee is okay, not the best but not the worst you ever had. I much prefer espresso from a real coffee machine, but this is a convenient option. I’d recommend this to someone who wants decent coffee at home but doesn’t want to learn how to pull an espresso shot.

I grew up in an Italian household and have been drinking coffee since I was extremely young. I also was a barista when I was younger, and have every type of brew system out there to enjoy my coffees depending on my mood. The biggest problem I had at work was not having a quick brew system for being on the go. I would usually bring in coffee I made at home but would run out early on, and I did not want to use my departments k-cups (they are tasteless!). I invested in one of these for my desk for work and WOW! I wish I’d done this sooner! Pros: -Coffee is hot -The foam is AMAZING -Flavour notes are clear and have much more body than other (quick pod) machines I’ve used in the past. -Easy one touch button system that reads the pod code -automatic open and close lid -Easy clean up Con: -Louder than I expected Yup, that’s it for cons! If it were a bit more quiet, it would be nice, but of course that is not a deal breaker. I have now purchased a machine for home to add to my other classic espresso machine, French press, pour overs, drip system, etc. I also waited two months to review to make sure it was consistent with taste and performance. I cannot recommend these machines enough!

I got this as a gift and while the coffee is good it is a little loud so hopefully it’s far away from anyone who may still be sleeping. I love the rich creamy taste the coffee has after brewing but I just found it too expensive to use daily especially when sometimes I have two cups of coffee a day! But it does truly make great coffee and holds up well I just wish the pods were a bit cheaper and the machine was a bit quieter

This thing is a game changer!! Upfront investment is pricey but it’s better than going out to get coffee every morning. With this you can get starbucks at home every day. It’s a very simple machine but it makes my mornings a million times easier. It is very classy looking and fits nicely on my countertop, not too bulky.

I am so happy with this purchase. We had been debating what espresso machine to get, we love our morning coffee. We ended up with the Nespresso Vertuo after a friend made us the most wonderful coffee with theirs. It doesn’t take up a ton of space, is easy to use, no mess. I love the variety of flavor options that are available, we’ve enjoyed them all so far. The machine is a little noisy when it is running but it brews fast and doesn’t really bother us at all. We are 10/10 happy with this appliance, and would buy it again. Also we’ve had it for 6 months and still love and use it daily.

So I was very excited that my new job has this Nespresso machine in the office. But after trying several different pods and flavors, I personally am not a big fan and disappointed in the hype I thought I would enjoy this coffee. First off I find it very heavy for my stomach and almost afterwards always feel a heavy feeling in my tummy or stomach ache. Also the foamy part I don’t like and try to mix in right away with a coffee stirrer. I quality is great but I also feel the machine is a little slow to start and make the coffee, in comparison to my old Keurig machine. I think I am more of a Keurig girl and prefer basic coffee but overall think the design and size of the Nespresso Vertuo is perfect for the office needs.

Thanks for your honest review, Marcela! The layer that forms on top of each brewed coffee is a combination of coffee and air called the crema and is naturally created during the extraction process. As each blend brews according to its own unique parameters, there is no way to adjust the amount of crema that forms, however the volume will subside.
