It a fun, nostalgic gift, but not well made. After playing a few times the joystick works poorly. It doesn't respond appropriately. If you're buying it for the novelty of the item then it's cool, but for actual play time, not so much.
Someone from my company brought this as their white elephant exchange gift and might have to quit now. It was not well received by the group, especially the eventual receiver of the gift, who happens to be a middle aged male. The gift giver stands by the fact that it is "cool" although he has never actually played it. FYI it does not come with batteries. If you have a white elephant coming up this holiday season, I would recommend going with something safer like wine.
I bought this game for myself, a 39 year old woman. These are the classic games I played in my youth with some Stranger Things (a show I LOVE) games as well.
Before I opened the box I thought it looked awkward to play, but it's not. The joystick doesn't turn how you want, esp in Pacman, but that's how I always remembered Pacman to be.
I take this with me on long commutes and it really passes the time.
Got this for my son on his 5th birthday. He saw a similar one (micro arcade) in a different store. I bought this one because it came with several classic games opposed to the other one that he wanted that had just the one. I was quite surprised because I really didn’t think it would work, but it does. He doesn’t know about Stranger Things so that part doesn’t matter to him. It does play the show’s theme song, which would be cool for someone who really likes the show. There are a bunch of Stranger Things themed games—a few are frustrating for him, but I just tell him not to play those. I’m sure older kids would have no problem.
I like the games it comes with. The only thing I really dont like is the joy stick it feels a lil to hard to move. When you're playing pack man u move the joy stick for him to go another way and it does not respond rite away. You have to try again for it to work. I would just think they would of made the joy stick a little easier to move so it can respond better. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
When we received this game and opened it, we all thought this is really small. We put the batteries in and it seems to start ok, but every game we tried to play has some kind of glitch in it. It keeps cutting out. I even replaced the batteries with brand new ones and it still glitched. Aside from that any one with bigger hands may find this a little difficult to operate. The games themselves are ok, but it is also difficult to use the controls because of the way of the design of the game. All in all it's ok, but really wish it didn't have that glitch in it.
