I had to put on sunscreen on my face after a medical procedure and it didn't hurt. That was huge since my face was very red. It goes on pretty white but soaks in after a few minutes so you don't end up with a white face. Very happy with this product.

This is very matte on my skin, which I love. It leaves no white cast and blends very well. It doesn’t feel greasy or heavy at all. The price is right and the formula would work well on a lot of skin types.

I would gladly have a white film of sunblock on my face than skin cancer. I was recently diagnosed w/precanerous sun spots on my face and have had to go through getting the spots frozen and also using an ointment that has similar effects. The results of this have left my face temporarily red, scabbed and wishing I had paid attention to the warnings of sun damage. If I only knew then what I know now.....WEAR SUNBLOCK, all day, every day. Who cares if it leaves a white film on your skin, that means it's working. I recently got a compliment from someone saying they liked my highlights on my face....I told them it was sunblock. Wear it and stop complaining about the white, thickness. I wish I would have.

I’m docking 1 star because it is really hard to spread but this is a great sunscreen for those of us that like doing outdoorsy things. I’ve worn this to the beach, hiking, even just floating down the river and it works really well to keep my skin from burning or tanning too much. This may not be everyone’s everyday SPF but opt for this one if you’re going to be doing a lot of outdoor physical activities.

What a confusing product- comes out liquid, but spreads worse than clay. Not being able to cover yourself defeats the point of sunscreen. Never mind what a blatant lie the name “sheerzinc” is - it’s like caked on white theater makeup.

The chemists at Neutrogena need to refresh their college chemistry courses. Alkyl Benzoate, the number 2 ingredient, breaks down to toxic benzene in the presence of UV rays. Acrylates are plastics derived from petroleum. There is almost nothing natural about this sunscreen.

Terrible, I bought this because it’s a mineral sunscreen (I prefer a physical sun block vs. chemical) with a high percentage of zinc oxide. However it has a terrible formula and is extremely thick, NOT spreadable and definitely not sheer. If you’re looking for a mineral sunscreen with a high percentage of zinc oxide try blue lizard or UltaMD; they have formulas elegantly crafted to sink into skin and blend 1000X better than this one. Mineral sunscreens have to be formulated especially well to prevent everything wrong with this one. It was a horrible purchase and what comes of not reading reviews before buying.

For all the 1 star reviews, SHEER meaning as in nothing other than; unmitigated. Also, do research before making an uneducated purchase then leaving a bad review. Zinc oxide is stark white and has a very thick consistency. All skin pigments could experience a temporary greyish hue. This product has the hight Zinc oxide % that I’ve been able to find (highest available 25%). Even with that downside, it has so many benefits for your skin - wound healing, UV ray protection, and seals in moisture. The BEST part, it prevents darkening of the skin and it should be part of your daily treatment plan for dark spots or melasma.

Pros!! - I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin. I’m also very sensitive to scents. I had no problems with this sunscreen. -Washed off well in the shower, just scrubbed my arms, etc a few times with honest co liquid shampoo. - Water repelling for water fun! I could see the water beading up and running off. -I didn’t burn!!! And I was working outside for 7 Hours. -Cleaner and better for your body than conventional. Cons/ish. -Won’t blend in, but it’s also not supposed to be absorbed by the skin. It sits on top. That’s what mineral based sunscreens do. Put it on lightly then add more if needed. - Definitely looks like paint lol. But again, it’s a zinc oxide based sunscreen.
Ridiculous whitecast. Not only for darker skin but on my white husband as well. Do not buy.
