I was looking for a shampoo and conditioner for fragile gray hair. The shampoo has a decent pigment load to tone gray hair but I'm not comfortable leaving shampoo on my head longer than it takes to cleanse. I want a pigmented conditioner, something that feels safe to leave on fur several minutes. However, the conditioner does not have any pigments, it's a very light lilac color that's strictly for show, no toning properties.

This stuff makes bleached hair so brittle and breaks it ! It does tone well, but after 1 use you can literally see the damage and breakage ! I have curly dirty blonde hair naturally with blonde balayage so I only use this product about 1 time a month. This product is so drying it is insane. I am currently throwing the remainder of it away as I write this review.

I think that this product works pretty well on its own. I haven’t tried it with the shampoo as well because I use one specific regular brand that works well for me and just wanted a new conditioner. It has a much creamier texture than other purple conditioners I’ve used in the past and the scent is really light and floral and pleasant. I have really thick hair and need a conditioner with a lot of slip in it to help comb my hair after it’s wet so i usually use this and then use my detangling conditioner afterwards. If you have hair that doesn’t tangle easily, you’ll be fine using this as your sole conditioner. The shade of purple is fairly light, more like lilac rather than deep purple. I started using it to keep my hair from turning brassy, not try to undo any brassiness and I think this product has helped keep it blonde and shiny. I really enjoyed the scent of this Conditioner, and it left my hair feeling soft, but it just didn't tone as much as I'm used to with my normal purple shampoo/conditioner. The shade of purple is so light that I feel like it didn't do anything at all to help neutralize the gold tones in my hair. I probably won't purchase this Conditioner in the future. This past summer and most of the winter I had the Rose gold hair that was trending last year. I figured why not try this product, I wanted to change it up for the spring anyways. I really didnt know what to expect because I had golden hair not blonde. But to my surprise it lightened it up, even my friend who is a hair dresser noticed. It smells great too she always asks me what shampoo I use when I use this product. I use it like 2-3 times a weeks, only because I shower every other day. Some days I feel my hair is still light enough and I skip it and use my other conditioner. It leaves my hair super soft and shiny too! All pluss in my book. Finding the right product to use on my hair can be very difficult as it is prone to frizz and with its thickness that is not a good look! I have used Nexus in the past, and liked it, but not for some years. I am glad I got tried it again because I am so happy with its result.
