The Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR lens is ideal for capturing distant subjects with great clarity. It's compatible with all Nikon digital SLR cameras. This lens has image stabilization which reduces vibration while capturing sharp still images. With its tripod detection mode, it reduces vibration that might occur by shutter release when mounted on a tripod. This digital SLR camera lens has a silent wave motor for fast and precise autofocusing. Its rounded 9-blade diaphragm delivers natural appearance for out-of-focus image areas. This telephoto zoom lens has a minimum telephoto aperture range of f/22. It comes with a carry case, lens cap and hood.

Using this lens with an D3300 for wildlife photography and having difficulty getting sharp bird photos, especially at 300mm. I understand from reviews that the Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E VR AF-P lens focuses quicker for this type of work. Would this lens focus faster on a body with more auto focus po...  see moreof papajoe's review

Hello there, I am a young nature photographer who has used this lens for an entire year. It has been quite a good lens, I love how sharp the focus can get and it has captured some tricky birds in flight. The vibration reduction really, really helps get the clarity of the photographs, and it focuses ...  see moreof TheBirdwatcher's review

The versatility of this lens is remarkable. Even with a minimum focus distance of 4.6 feet, the long focal length allows me to use it for sharp macro photography. The vibration reduction system enables handheld shots even at 300mm in less than bright light. I've used this lens on my D7200 as well as...  see moreof Ridgewalker's review

I purchased this lens over two years ago. It is without question a fantastic lens capable of stop action at the full 300mm. I had to send this lens in for service twice: once because the auto-focus seemed to start "hunting" and again when the VR seemed to quit. Both times NIKON USA did a full PM on ...  see moreof jdw3rd's review
