A: I have found that is not the case, with other Ninja blenders. I have interchaged the cups/jars. I do not know if that is true with this unit, but I have a similar unit with cups that I bought directly from Ninja. That base fits with other (older) cups.

A: You would remove it the same you do when you want to pour out the mix. Once the pitcher is removed, remove the lid, and then the blade very carefully.

Purchased 07/24 about 4 months later the entire pitcher has spiderweb cracks. Never put in the dishwasher. Always hand washed and air dried. Use to make salsa and drinks. Never even put ice in it.

Poor quality. The blade design makes it impossible to clean the blade by hand. I cut myself the first 3 times I tried. While the machine is high powered, the design of the blade prevented it from actually blending well. I frequently ate ice that wouldn't break down. After 3 months, it is now leaning out of the bottom. I would give this $80 waste of money negative stars if I could.

I'm 11 months into the one year warranty. It has never worked well especially chopping ice but I was able to use it (having to stir contents 3 times blending a smoothie). A week ago the lid would not close properly. I kept messing with it and finally it did but there were pieces of black plastic in my drink (coming from the lid!!). The blender still worked and I washed out the lid and thought I could move on as-is however I continue to get granules of black plastic in my drink. I will file a warranty claim with Ninja. Wish me luck.

Little bits of the handle started breaking off this blender within a few weeks of use! I tried to be flexible about that... no big deal piecing parts of a blender back together each time I use it, right? But now that I've had it a year, it's getting increasingly finicky. Even when I piece the fragile handle back together and get it working, it will suddenly die mid-smoothie. It's so tedious and exhausting to have to pull out the food processor to finish the job and then have 2 appliances to wash. I wish I'd saved my money for a higher-quality product.

After about 10 uses over 5 months, the lid broke. I called Ninja and they told me the warranty didn't cover the container or lid. Bogus. She offered to sell me a new container and lid for $69, despite the entire appliance costing $75. Customer service is terrible, and product is even worse.

I make smoothies 2-3 days a week. I bought this blender which had great reviews and it started cracking after about 2 months. The pitcher has cracked to the point of not being usable not and I have owned it less than 4 months. Don't waste your money on this cheap item. I had my last kitchenaid blender for 13 years. Do not buy this.

Had this blender barely over a year and it's already giving out. I use it to make Chile and salsa and for it to give it that soon is ridiculous.

Whoever designed this thing was an idiot. The pitcher is made of plastic and the lid is held in place by the pitcher. The pitcher is weak where the lid attaches, eventually breaking off so you now have to physical hold the lid on for it to function.
