Description

Nokia XR20 is designed for the long run. A phone that can stand up to anything life throws at it – and look great doing it. With an ultra-solid case and the toughest display glass we could find, it’s scratch-resistant, drop-resistant, temperature-resistant, water-resistant and kid-and-pet-resistant. It also comes with up to 3 years of OS upgrades and 4 years of monthly security updates, so your phone will be up to date into 2025. And because you’ll be using it longer, it’s better for the environment. Nokia XR20 is one good looking, tough, long-lasting smartphone. The sleek casing is made to the MIL-STD-810H military standard, and the screen is our toughest glass yet. So, you can drop it, get it wet, and even record your kid’s football game in the roughest weather. If it gets dirty, you can just clean it with soap and water. We keep our lives on our phones. So, we want to trust that what’s in there stays private. Nokia XR20 comes with monthly security updates for 4 years, so you can keep your hopes, dreams, ideas, pictures, notes, schedules and emails safe and secure into 2025. Sorry, hackers. This is our toughest screen yet – Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus™ is strong enough to resist the whims of kids, the slobber of pets, as well as drops and scratches. It also stands out in sunlight and is sensitive enough to react to the touch of wet hands and gloves. Nokia XR20 is built to survive – and that includes what’s on the inside as well. So, while it comes with the latest, fastest, most secure AndroidTM 11, it also comes with up to 3 years of OS upgrades and 4 years of monthly security updates, so your phone will be up to date into 2025. A smartphone tough enough to face the action needs a serious good camera to capture it. The dual rear camera setup of Nokia XR20 features a 48 MP sensor, a 13 MP ultra-wide sensor and dedicated flash for serious detail capture, regardless of the lighting condition. The new SpeedWarp mode with super-stabilization lets you fast forward to the key moments, while OZO spatial audio capture with wind-noise cancellation makes sure you capture only the sounds you want. Glitch free streaming and faster uploading are no longer nice-to-haves – they’re necessities. 5G is the fastest, most dependable connection ever, offering up to 20× faster connections than 4G. So, wherever the action takes you, letting the world watch your adventures won’t be a problem.

Nokia was my first love for Mobile phones, I still have my first Nokia 3300 with me as a Trophy if Collections. But since Nokia stopped Production and again came back with a Bang, I was always in search for an all in one device, which I found in Nokia XR20. As Nokia is known for its Battery Life and Camera Clarity - I didn't get both of that in this Device XR20. The Battery would not last even for a full 24 hours. (I started comparing it's life with that of an iPhone). Anyways best of luck for your future technologies...

I wish you could assign / customize all the side buttons (including the Google assistant) & I miss the blinking notification light like my old Nokia 4.2, so I didn't have to do any unnecessary phone checks... I love the wireless charging & water / shock resistance, if only the batteries would last for a week like the old 3310 or 8110 🙂

A Very Good Smartphone with Excellent Battery Life

Battery life is excellent. I purchased Nokia because of my history with their phones. The radio quality (send/receive) is top-notch as always. Camera is nice too. On the downside, I keep hitting the Google assistant button when not intending to. Also, this implementation of Android is taking a little bit of time to get used to. The only irritating thing about this phone is that on group texts sent to me, when I reply it breaks the groups up so that each of the people on the group get an individual text. Then when one of the group members responds to me, they're not responding to the entire group. I've seen that this is a known issue, but as of the date of this review it has not been resolved.

A True Nokia Phone

I've been using Nokia phones, since the early days. I've had no desire to try other brands, because their build quality and functionality has been excellent. After the Microsoft fiasco, I stuck with Nokia as branded by HMD Global. The Nokia 8.3 was my first Android phone. Overall I was satisfied with how it performed, though there were some practical issues with its center of balance and build materials. The Nokia XR20 does not share the same issues, while being built more ruggedly. This is a truly well-balanced phone in more ways than one. While long gone are the days of Lumia, the camera is adequate for snaps. Post editing apps are recommended, though. While 8GB RAM would have helped make the performance snappier, 6GB is enough to get the job done on a daily basis. Those minor caveats aside, this phone from HMD Global feels like a true Nokia!

I hate that we've come to the point where iOS (Apple knows everything you do), pure Android (Google knows everything you do), and Samsung (they know everything you do) are the only options. It took me about a week to find all the ways to shut down Google monetizing my data. Some of that really affects the functionality of the phone, since the whole OS is really based on Google monetizing user data. Nokia is like the last bastian for high-end phones that aren't made by the one of the aforementioned since LG quit the smartphone market. I just wish they would work toward their own take on Android at least. I'm almost considering one of the stupid flip phones that uses a Firefox-based OS for my next phone. The problem is I really do use my apps.

I bought it about a year ago. Chose this because of the not cluttered os and heavy duty structure, hoping it will survive if dropped. So far so good. Not very happy with the camera, videos get strange glitches etc .

Robust and Tough, at a Reasonable Price

Robust and well-constructed, reliable and everything one expects from a Nokia. The performance is significantly under-par for a flagship device, the power button/fingerprint scanner can feel a bit mushy and insensitive, and due to the heavy-duty metal construction it tends to run hot in the hand, particularly if charging. I am particularly enthused about the availability of physical multi-SIM capability, as many manufacturers seem to be abandoning it in favor of E-Mails. Ultimately, for the price point, it's a marvel, but if flagship performance is your sticking point look elsewhere.

Durable midrange phone

Really enjoyed using this phone. Decent performance for general activities, low lag. Dual speakers produce above average volume and clarity. Camera is also good for one without mechanical stabilization. I work long hours in a hospital so the extra durability and battery life are helpful. Dropped it a few times but so far no visible damage yet. 5G is a plus. Overall a great value, in a robust no-nonsense package. There are faster phones, but XR20 is not slow at all and I appreciate the peace of mind when using it.
