Making meat loaf has never been healthier or easier! Perforated aluminum trivet allows fat to drip away as meat bakes. Handles on trivet make it easy to lift contents for serving-- without sticking. Standard size loaf pan doubles as a bread pan.
I love this pan, very heavy duty. Read the instructions and reviews about metal discoloring and to be honest I fobt really care as long as it works. This pan is very well built and I see this lasting a lifetime.
I was surprised at how heavy this pan was. I use a good amount of tomato product in my meatloaf and after the first one the pan is stained in areas but it just shows it's been used. The meatloaf came out perfect. This pan and I will be friends
The last time I made a meatloaf, I used a Pyrex loaf pan, only to find beef fat bubbling up the sides when I removed it from the oven. I finally decided that before I made another, I would purchase a special meatloaf pan with an insert that holds the loaf up out of the fat. When my Nordic Ware pan arrived, I showed it to a professional cook, who told me "Nordic Ware is one of the best brands of cookware," and we both were impressed with the gauge of the metal and quality of construction. My first meatloaf came out of the oven done to a turn, nice and juicy, and the fat stayed under the lifting trivet. Fine product.
The instructions enclosed said that all sorts of foods (mainly acidic) would discolor the pan, but that the discoloration would not affect the pan's usefulness. I took note of the caution and vowed to be careful with the pan, putting it in the sink with ONLY WATER in order to soak off a label. After 15 minutes, I returned to find the pan had already turned dark in some places. I guess I will trust the manufacturer's words that the discoloration won't affect the performance of the pan, but it's a bit disappointing to ruin a new item in the first 15 minutes with only water. :-(
