Book Synopsis
A great parent/child read for fans of classic Saturday morning cartoons in the vein of Johnny Quest. A boy must team up with a group of elemental apes in order to save his mother from possession. A raucous tale in the tradition of the classic saturday morning cartoons-- Jonny Quest, The Herculoids, Space Ghost, and The Mighty Mightor-- Nothing Can Stop...The Ape! This mini-series tells the story of Maxwell Morgan, a twelve-year-old boy who will go to any lengths to save his mom (who has been possessed by the spirit of thuuna, an angry primordial goddess), even going as far as freeing the goddess's immortal enemy from his magical prison. With his faithful french bulldog and four primitive cave people gifted with the powers of the elements, maxwell must convince the newly-released gorilla god of chaos, ghraagg'endah, to help them save the world from thuuna's genocidal intentions and free his mother from the goddess's clutches. Paying homage to the Hanna-Barbera animated shows of the late sixties, Nothing Can Stop. . . The Ape! is a story for all ages. So pour yourself a bowl of cereal, and strap yourself in for a non-stop, pulse-pounding thrill ride of epic proportions because nothing can stop . . . The Ape!About the Author
Tom Sniegoski is a New York Times best-selling author who has written for children, young adults, and adults, and has also worked extensively in the comic book industry, for nearly every major comic publisher. He has scripted such characters as Batman, The Punisher, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Teen Titans Go!, Vampirella, Pantha, Hellboy, Young Hellboy, as well as Bone, with Jeff Smith. Tom is currently working on The Herculoids with Craig Rousseau for Dynamite Entertainment. His latest novella with his writing partner, Jeannine Acheson, Nira: A Constance Evermore Story, was released in September of 2025 from Bad Hand Books. Jeannine Acheson is new to the world of publishing and comics, having written several titles with Tom Sniegoski, including Vampiverse, Vampirella: Dark Reflections, and Pantha for Dynamite Entertainment, as well as the creator-owned comic series Soul Taker for Mad Cave Studios. Jeannine's first novella, Nira: A Constance Evermore Story, was released in September of 2025 from Bad Hand Books. She is currently working with Mike Mignola and Tom Sniegoski on a new Grim Death novella for release in 2026, also from Bad Hand Books. Craig's been drawing comics for over 2 decades (!?), working for DC (IMPULSE, BATMAN BEYOND, HARLEY QUINN, BATMAN '66, FUTURE QUEST), DISNEY, MARVEL and more... Besides drawing the adventures of YOUNG HELLBOY with Mike Mignola and Tom Sniegoski, he's currently working with Tom on THE HERCULOIDS as well as the latest adventures of his creator-owned book, THE PERHAPANAUTS, with Todd Dezago... and probably watching THIS OLD HOUSE or AMERICA'S TEST KITCHEN. TOM GAADT comes from a family full of illustrators. After graduating from the Columbus College of Art & Design in 1990, he held various artistic positions, including staff illustrator for KidSports and Advertising for Gannett. In 2000, while attending his first San Diego Comic-Con, he helped behind the booth at Cartoon Books. It was thru Jeff Smith (plus meeting so many other greats in the industry, like the writer of this book!) that his profession in coloring award winning graphic novels began! Tom currently lives in Columbus, Ohio. Taylor Esposito is multi-award winning comic book lettering professional, owner of Ghost Glyph Studios, and teacher at the legendary Kubert School. A former staff letterer at DC and production artist at Marvel, he has lettered titles such as Red Hood and The Outlaws, Robin Lives!, and Harley Quinn The Eat KILL Bang Tour; Flash Gordon, The Phantom (Mad Cave Studios), Free Planet, Drawing Blood (Image); Babyteeth, Maniac of New York, Bunny Mask (Aftershock); Minecraft and Survival Street (Dark Horse). Other publishers he has worked with include BOOM!
