Has a satin finish, but feels more like a matte

I got this because I really wanted something similar to the old NYX Butter LIPSTICKs, which they don't have anymore for some weird reason, but also never replaced with anything similar? But this is just so not it for me. This lipstick is so thick and drying it feels like a matte. When I first tried it on, I had to reread the packaging to make sure I got the satin version and not the matte. It has a "satin" finish, but the formula just feels sticky/thick and it balls up on itself like a Matte does when you rub your lips together. If you have dry lips, this will settle like a matte and cling to your dry spots. I really wish they would bring back the BUTTER LIPSTICKS because they were actually so unbelievably pigmented and melty to where it didn't feel like you were wearing anything. You could use the darker colors more like stains because they were so pigmented and easy to blend. I literally keep the licorice shade in my everyday makeup bag and fear I will never find a replacement. Really sad they stopped having them and there is nothing else like it in their lipstick collections. This thick drying stuff just feels cheap and 2016.

The shade Day Club is not the same color as the hearts on outside of the tube or in the website photo. The true color is more orange. My skin tone is fair so this color looks horrible on me. So disappointing!

Awful color for me, it looks pretty but was a terrible fuschia kind of pink once on. Maybe a good shade for a blonde I think?

Fabulous stuff! I don't need a lipliner -- I can use the lipstick alone for a fuller lip shape that stays in place all day. Great colors and texture.

Once again NYX has hit it out of the park with this beautiful light nude colored lipstick that goes on silky smooth. It does transfer a bit but otherwise last a good while.

Let this be your warning if you discontinue 1999 I am coming to your headquarters and getting kicked out by security. I have cool undertones, very soft coloring that a lot of makeup can overpower, and have never used such a PERFECT shade. At first I thought maybe it was called 1999 as a reference to the lipstick trends of the era, but this is such a masterpiece it is as though it must have taken Nyx 1,999 tries to get it right. Not too pink, not too warm, not too grey. Please do not alter it in any way.

I adore the satin feel of these lip colors. Smooth and soft without the tackiness. Staying power was pretty good. Lasted about 3 hours without budging, but that was without eating or drinking anything. I’d buy this again!

LOVE LOVE LOVE! I got the shade Dirty Talk, and wore it under my mask. Not only did it make me feel so sassy, but it didn't transfer to the mask, and hardly transferred to my straw from my coffee! It lasted through a meal without reapplication, with barely any fading. Definitely recommend this, and I will be getting more shades soon!

When I apply my makeup for the day I always reach for lip products because they really bring out everything else that I have applied to my makeup routine and this just gives that complete look and makes me feel better about myself overall, but the best part is that this product doesn't smudge or smear stays in place all day and brings my lips making me feel overall great about myself which gives me confidence and that is why I love this product !

This is for the Nyx lipstick in shade Cactus Dreams. First off, I love this color... I wasn't sure that I'd like it but I've been wanting to explore other lip colors and I'm glad I tried this one! This is a terra cotta color that gives me fall season vibes and it goes great with a lot of my outfits. The lipstick lasts for a bit but not too long, it's good for every day when you will most likely have more time to keep applying it. This is super affordable, I totally recommend buying this!
