Description
Besides the whole delicious thing, Oatly oat milk also a pretty optimal option for everyday use because it has added calcium and vitamins (A, D, Riboflavin, B12) and includes 2% fat from rapeseed oil and oats. It also has a wonderful, gulp-able texture without stabilizers, gums or thickeners to ruin the vibe. And the beta-glucans (big, scientific word for soluble fiber) in this one are strong and handsome. When should you use it? Whenever you'd use old-school milk from cows—chilled in a glass, on your cereal, in your smoothies, in all your cooking and baking—in exactly the same amounts. Simply a 1:1 swap. So easy.

Q: Were these oats sourced from a place that uses glysophates?
A: From their website.. No. We carefully source our oats from our trusted supplier, Grain Millers. Grain Millers provides their farmers with a comprehensive support program that fosters a number of sustainable agricultural practices, including avoiding the use of glyphosate on their oats. In fact, Grain Millers has required that their farmers not use glyphosate on their oats since 2015 and conducts random, weekly sampling and testing to validate their farmers' compliance. As part of this certification, we submit our finished oatmilk to a qualified third party lab on a random, quarterly basis to have it tested for glyphosate residue. Because both our raw oats and our finished oatmilk are tested regularly for glyphosate, we’re able to ensure that our oatmilk is always fully compliant with the specifications for glyphosate residue free products.

Q: can someone tell me if the lowfat version still tastes the same? i just tried the regular and its a bit thick, also what is with all the different phosphates? are they safe?
A: Hi there, all great questions! Our Low Fat Oatmilk contains no added oil, so it won’t be quite as thick as the rest of our oatmilks. To your second point, we put a ton of thought into the ingredients we use and of course only use ingredients that are safe for consumption. We also use additives sparingly and with intention. The phosphates in our oatmilks serve as sources of calcium, potassium and phosphorous. The dipotassium phosphate is used as an acidity regulator, which is a super technical-sounding name that basically just means it keeps our oatmilk from separating in your coffee or other beverages. If you have additional questions, just shoot us an email at info.us@oatly.com!

Q: Is this yellow like the lowfat?
A: Hi there! Our Low-Fat oatmilk can have a darker or more yellowish color due to the lack of added plant-based oil, which is an ingredient that adds opacity (and nutritional fat content) to our other oatmilks. That means our other varieties of oatmilk are typically more white in color, as compared to the Low-Fat. If you have any other questions feel free to email us at info.us@oatly.com. Thanks!

Q: Why does the description say "no added sugar" while the label indicates 7 grams of added sugar?
A: From Oatly's website - FAQ section: Why do your nutrition labels now include added sugars? Did you change your oatmilk recipe? Nope! We haven’t changed anything about our recipe, ingredients, or production process, and we don’t add any sweeteners to our Original, Low-Fat, Full Fat or Barista Edition oatmilk. We did, however, change our nutrition fact panels in accordance with new FDA guidance regarding sugar labeling. This new guidance provides that any sugar created during a product’s production process should be listed as “added sugar,” even if the sugar is a result of that production process. So, where does the sugar in your oatmilk come from? The sugar in our oatmilk is produced during our enzymatic production process. Basically, we use natural enzymes to liquefy our oats. This process enables us to make a really creamy oatmilk that retains a lot of the nutrition from the original oat, like fibers, unsaturated fats, protein and carbs. As part of this process, the enzymes break the starches in the oats down into simple sugars like maltose, similar to how the human body uses enzymes to break starches down into sugars during digestion. You can read more about this process here.

Q: IS this kosher?if yes who certifies it kosher?
A: Yes, all Oatly products are certified kosher by OU. They are currently certified kosher under the dairy label because they’re processed in a facility that also processes products containing dairy (though we conduct rigorous testing throughout the production and packaging process to ensure there is no cross-contamination of any kind).

Q: Why is Oatly Oat Milk considerably more expensive than Silk or other brands of Oat Milk
A: We can’t speak for other brands and their pricing, but we do our best to price our oatmilk on par with other high quality plant-based milks, keeping in mind the non-GMO, gluten-free ingredients we use to make it as well as the patented enzymatic technology we use to produce it. You can read more about that process on Oatly's website if you’re interested!
