This water beads will kill your child and or pet. Ingesting one bead can cause irreversible damage and end a life. Do not buy this unless it’s for an older child and you don’t have pets.

I definitely think it’s for a much older child. Like 5-6. Received as a gift for my 2 year old, I threw away the beads because they are a hazard for young children. Either her or our 2 month old could ingest and it just isn’t worth the worry. The sand part is okay. It’s just not what I thought it’s be like. It’s hard and messy. For 3year old I don’t think this is appropriate. Like I said maybe if it’s for a 5-6 year old.

I have a love hate relationship with these. We've bought these kits several times and they are always fun. This one in particular usually lasts about a month before the kids no longer can have fun with it. 20 for a month worth of fun is worth it to me. There are several things that would make them better however. 1. I have different bins to put them in at home. This time the bin it came in didn't even make it home without cracking. 2. The sand is a different texture every time. It is never kinetic sand and it's never just regular sand. Both of those would be preferable to the texture of this... which I'll give the benefit of the doubt, it acts like wet sand. 3. They don't have a warning on the label as others have said. Nor can I find an ingredient list for the sand. This isn't a huge deal to me but means I am careful if children with allergies come over to play with it. .... we also have the dinosaur one, which lasts much longer. They are all messes but even my 10yo will play with the younger kids with them so I love the fun.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear your bin was cracked - please reach out to us at consumer@fabercastell.com so that we can provide a courtesy replacement. Please note there are two types of sand included in our sensory bins, depending on the theme: kinetic and natural. This was fun! My three year old loves it, But I will say after seeing so many posts about how dangerous these water beads are I ended up throwing them out and just kept the sand for now until she is older. Although she is always supervised while using it, she gets excited and there was a few times the water beads flew out of the tub and is very difficult to find translucent beads on a white floor.

Just because these are labeled non toxic does not mean they do not pose a life threatening risk if ingested. These beads continue to grow and can cause bowel blockages that require surgical removal.
