Identical twins Nora and Livi are on a road trip with a dual purpose: aspiring filmmaker Nora is trying to capture scenic footage for her film-school application, and Livi has a college interview in the morning. When a semi almost barrels into them in the fog, they are shaken enough to get off the highway. But disasters always happen in groups. As they travel further off course and deeper into the forest, they lose cell service, they are attacked by killer bees, and their car plunges down a steep slope into a raging river. Forget getting Livi to her interview on time; how will they survive? This is more a story of sisterly bonding than a harrowing survival tale, as they are rescued quite quickly and providentially from each difficulty they encounter. But there is a film-set experience that's unexpected at the end, and it's satisfying to see the twins succeed with a very uplifting finale. Readers interested in a true adrenaline rush may not be sated, but it's a quick-paced read nonetheless.--Booklist-- "Journal"
