About the Book

From three beloved romance authors come sweet and nostalgic stories about Christmas and the joy of finding home.

Book Synopsis

Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, anything can happen.

In this glittering and heartwarming collection, three of today's bestselling sweet romance novelists offer up the gift of cheer for the winter holiday season.

A Christmas Do-Over by Sheila Roberts

Darby doesn't want to go home for the holidays, but a career fail sends her slinking back to the small town she always wanted to escape. No one there is especially glad to see the former mean girl--especially not her sister, Erica, or childhood best friend, Gregory. Darby is working hard to be a better person, but has she eaten enough humble pie to make amends?

Dashing Through the Snow by Melissa Ferguson

When Willow's boyfriend of seven years dumps her on the eve of a romantic getaway, she decides to take the two-week train trip on The Christmas Express alone. Hurt as she feels, she can't anticipate how the hilarious rebound ride with conductor Oliver, elf Ian, and aging world adventurer Clarence will heal her heart--and renew her sense of worth.

A Perfectly Splendid Christmas by Amy Clipston

Kacey adores the metropolitan life, but when she gets away to help her sister during a family crisis and run her bakery, she falls in love with former classmate Drew. The problem: he's a small-town man, and she's a big-city woman. Is their love big enough to overcome such a major difference?

Curl up with your favorite holiday drink and sink into three worlds where dreams once thought long-gone are still within reach.

What a delightful read this collection of stories was. I usually have a favorite but I would be hard pressed to pick one this time around. Each of the three is a stand-alone story that is filled with lovely characters and charming settings. Along the way we meet Darby who is trying to become a reformed mean girl. You can't help but cheer her on as she makes amends and finds a new path in life. Then we join Willow on an interesting train adventure. The unexpected encounters will change the direction of her life. Finally we travel with Kacey back to her hometown where she helps her sister during a short-term crisis. In the midst she may find a long term life change. The Christmas spirit flows through each of these tales and allows the reader to escape into a delightful winter wonderland. One of the best parts is that each individual story is a novella so you can grab a cup of cocoa and read a story in one sitting. That's what I did three nights in a row. By the way, I think this would make a great addition to the book lover's stocking on your list! I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.

A charming collection of stories

On the Way to Christmas contains three contemporary Christmas romances by Sheila Roberts, Melissa Ferguson, and Amy Clipston. These are sweet stories that will get you in the mood for the holidays. I thought all three were well-written with steady pacing. I liked the characters and their stories. Amy Clipston takes us back to Splendid Lake in a Perfectly Splendid Christmas. I enjoyed returning to this charming town for Christmas. Kacey and Drew are getting a second chance, but only if one of them is brave enough to speak up. This was a heartwarming story. Dashing Through the Snow by Melissa Ferguson has Willow embarking on the Christmas Express by herself thanks to her discourteous ex-boyfriend. There is a handsome conductor who just might be the one for Willow. I laughed often while reading Dashing Through the Snow. I enjoyed the humor. I wanted Willow’s elf shoes (they sound so cute). The ending was delightful. A Christmas Do-Over by Sheila Roberts has Darby returning home for the holidays with her tail between her legs. Darby needs to apologize for her past behavior and prove that she has changed. That old saying that what goes around comes around, well Darby may be in for a big dose of what she used to dish out. These were three lighthearted tales that will get you into the spirit of the season. On the Way to Christmas is a charming collection of Christmas stories with scrumptious cookies, a school choir, an elf ensemble, competitive chess play, a snowball mishap, an ornament accident, and Christmas cheer.

My 5 star review of On the Way to Christmas - three stories by Sheila Roberts, Melissa Ferguson and Amy Clipston. I should like to start by thanking Amy Clipston and Zac Weikal for my copy of this book. I loved every second of this 5 star book and didn't want any of the stories to end. A Christmas Do-Over by Sheila Roberts I so enjoyed your story. I loved Darby and Erika and what a true relationship you depicted there. Of course the romance was wonderful and all in a terrific setting and at my favorite time of year. I definitely have to read more of your books. I remember reading and loving On Strike for Christmas and enjoying it so much. Dashing through the Snow by Melissa Ferguson your story was the first of your writing that I have read and I promise it won't be the last. What a wonderful journey the story took us on. If such a trip really existed I think I would have to take it. I loved your characters and I laughed until I cried and then I even cried a little with happiness. A perfect Christmas tale. A Perfectly Splendid Christmas by Amy Clipston ... my dear friend and one of my favorite authors ever. Thank you for taking us back to Splendid Lake and I really hope this won't be our last visit there. As always your characters were so believable and the pictures you painted with your words had me right there in Splendid Lake. If I closed my eyes...I could hear Joy to the World. I have loved everything of yours that I have read and I look forward to reading many more of your books and being part of your wonderful Bookworm Bunch. To all three of you...this was a truly delightful book with three wonderful stories. I am going to highly recommend this book and hope that many put it on their Christmas lists and their letters to Santa because it is so worth reading and would be very sad to miss.

If you wanna get a jump on Christmas, this novella collection might be just right for you. Amy Clipston teams up with two other authors to bring a trio of Christmas fuzzies to your humdrum 😉daily existence !! I finished Amy's story and it was excellent !!! I had not heard of the other two authors, but their stories are equally as compelling and draw you into the Christmas season with love, joy and some drama added into the mix. Give this collection a try !!!

Are you ready for some Christmas inspiration, but short on reading time? This is the book for you! Three different authors relate unique stories that remind us of the many emotions of Christmas, and each tale has great characters, a heartwarming romance, and many of the special traditions that we associate with the season. This is a book to savor, as you're invited to take part in baking cookies, Christmas caroling, family get-togethers, and attending the Christmas Tree Lighting Festival. On the Way to Christmas is a delightful, contemporary romance collection that totally captures the magic of the season! I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher. There was no obligation for a positive review.

A Sweet Christmas Anthology

Anything can happen between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and this heartwarming, magical trilogy proves it. This entire trilogy was lighthearted and fun to read. In A Christmas Do-Over by Sheila Roberts, Darby absolutely doesn't want to go home for the holidays. But, after a career set-back leaves her no more excuses to avoid going home, Darby slinks back to the small town she always wanted to escape when she was younger. Nobody except her parents and brother are particularly happy to see her, especially not her younger sister or childhood best friend, Gregory. Darby is working hard to become a better person but now she's going to have to face the consequences for her former mean girl ways. Has she grown enough to eat humble pie and make amends? I've never read anything by Sheila Roberts but I will definitely be reading more of her work. Darby and her family were such relatable characters. I could absolutely understand how it feels to have to face the music for past misdeeds. This book is such a sweet story of forgiveness and second chances. In Dashing Through the Snow, Melissa Ferguson tells the story of Willow. When her boyfriend of seven years, breaks up with her right before they were supposed to leave for a romantic Christmas adventure, she decides to go for the two week train adventure on her own. She was completely heartbroken so she couldn't have predicted the hilarious rebound ride with conductor, Oliver, elf Ian, and aging former conductor and world traveler Oliver. As her heart heals, she begins to discover her sense of self worth. I absolutely loved Willow's sweet story! I loved watching her rediscover who she is and realize that she deserves far better than the way her ex treated her. This is a story of new beginnings and I absolutely loved every second of it. I'd love to read more of Melissa's work. In A Perfectly Splendid Christmas, Amy Clipston takes us back to Splendid Lake and tells the story of Kacey. Kacey always dreamed of living in a city and she loves her life there. But, she returns home to Splendid Lake to help her sister run her bakery during a family crisis. While there, she falls in love with her former classmate and best friend, Drew. The only problem is she loves her life in the city and he's a hometown guy, through and through. While she can work from anywhere, Drew is a teacher and loved by his students. Is there love enough for one of them to uproot their life? As always, Amy Clipston wrote well rounded, relatable characters. In this sweet story, she shows that sometimes your new beginning might involve going back to your roots. **FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE NETGALLEY, THE AUTHORS, AND THOMAS NELSON PUBLISHING IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW. This was a warm collection of three novellas by three of my favorite authors. It’s inspiring and has opened my heart to the Christmas season. A Christmas Do-Over by Sheila Roberts This author never fails to not only write a heartwarming story but injects lots of humor along the way. Darby is headed home for the holidays after getting fired from her job. She has made many enemies through the years and deeply dreads running into them in the town she grew up in. I was distressed over some of the things she had done. Being a mean girl and a snob that thought she was better than others, was hard to read. But she started trying to make amends and asking forgiveness, but some folks were harder to convince, especially her own sister. There is eventually a love interest too which brightens up the mistletoe! Dashing Through the Snow by Melissa Ferguson This was a very different Christmas story, almost fantasy like. Most of it took place on a two week cross-country Christmas themed train trip. Willow made new friends and throughly enjoyed herself with every click clack of the rails. Never mind that her boyfriend dumped her just days before they were to take this trip together. Elves were everywhere on the train. Even the guests were encouraged to dress elf like as they prepared to board. Lots of adventures and a bit of romance thrown in at no extra cost! A Perfectly Splendid Christmas by Amy Clipston Full of fun and Christmas spirit, this was a very heartwarming story. Kacey comes home to help her sister in her bakery temporarily. Dani is having a hard time financially after her husband Travis has lost his job three months back. Kacey is a big city girl and although she enjoys her time with family, she plans on going back after the holidays. Former classmate Drew comes into the picture and there are sparks for sure. But he is small town and not big city. This story swelled my heart with joy and I hated for it to end! My biggest “fault” with all three of these stories was the mention of all the delicious sounding goodies. What’s a girl to do that’s trying to lose a few pounds? It was hard but I made it through! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher but was not required to write a review positive or otherwise. All opinions are strictly my own.

A Christmas Do-Over A former mean girl comes back home for Christmas for the first time in years after she finds herself unemployed. At first the main character is very hard to like, but she becomes more likable as the story goes on. A good story about making amends and finding oneself. 4/5 Dashing Through the Snow A cute story that takes place on a Christmas train across the US. Willow, who was recently dumped by her longtime boyfriend ends up on the romantic Christmas train alone. Willow ends up with an older gentleman as her seatmate and they quickly become friends. This story makes me really want to take a train ride (although maybe not for two weeks). Highly recommend for a quick Christmas read. 5/5 A Perfectly Splendid Christmas A second chance romance about missed opportunities. Kacey moves back home to help her sister out with her bakery and keeps running into her high school best friend, Drew. She's always liked Drew and he's always liked her, but they were both too chicken to let the other one know. Will they ever have the guts to let the other one know as they spend more time together? 5/5 A cute collection of Christmas stories that will warm your heart and get you in the Christmas spirit. I received an eARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
