The Oral-B Genius 8000 comes with Position Detection technology which uses Bluetooth technology, your smartphone, and facial recognition technology to provide you with real-time feedback about your brushing habits. The 360 SmartRing with LED lights allows you to personalize your brushing experience with your choice of 12 colors. The SmartRing works with the integrated timer and pressure sensor to provide you with visual feedback on brushing time and brushing pressure. Together, they help you ensure you brush for the recommended 2-minutes while making sure you brush with appropriate pressure to protect your gums from over-brushing. The premium Smart Travel Case lets you charge your brush and smartphone (via USB) at the same time while using only one wall plug. This highly advanced brush features a dentist-inspired round head that surrounds and cups each tooth with dynamic oscillating, rotating and pulsating movements to remove up to 500% more plaque than a regular manual toothbrush.
I bought this through my dentist and it has done an amazing job on my teeth and gums. I will never go back to a toothbrush again. Thank you Oral-B for such a great product. My teeth looks just like I left the dentist's office and was professional cleaned.
I use this toothbrush for 2 weeks now. The entire package looks luxurious. Normally I use a hand toothbrush. I was allowed to test this, and i'm very happy. If you brush too hard, the brush will indicate that. I just think it's a little bit expensive, but i'm satisfied
This is the best toothbrush I have ever used. My mouth feels clean and fresh-- just like I just came from the dentist. Only downside is that the directions to set up the toothbrush, which head to use, what the rubberband colors mean- etc- are just terrible. I finally brought my toothbrush over to a friend's teenager to set up.
Battery doesn't last very long. Need to switch to lithium ion tech. So dumb they use old tech for their batteries.

Please know our Genus 8000 has a lithium-ion battery, so you brush should last 12 days on one charge (with normal use). If your brush is lasting much less this, please give us a call at (800) 566-7252 so we can help further.
I love this brush. My Sonicare Flexcare died after 7 years so I needed to replace it and figured I’d try Oral-B. I am glad I did because my teeth and mouth feel absolutely incredible after each and every session. Literally that fresh out of the dentist feeling every day. The intensity is more than my old Sonicare and I love that. Based on my experience I would say Oral-B is definitely the way to go. I truly believe the round brush head is superior as well. That being said, let’s be honest: It’s not perfect. I care very much about dental hygiene and quick, in-and-out dentist visits. I went with this brush because of the position detection, thinking it would take my brushing to the next level. However the position detection is not all it’s cracked up to be. I don’t like that I have to mount my phone in perfect alignment with my mouth on the mirror each and every time I want to use the position detection feature. It’s also not truly position detection, but rather a fancy timer. Yes, it divides the mouth into 6 sections, but not front and back sides of each section. So if you stay in one section on one side, you still “clear” that section as long as you’re there for 1/6 of the brush time. I’ve also experienced while brushing one section, it shows progress on both that section and the one above/below it at the same time, which obviously is impossible. For these reasons I don’t use the position detection anymore. Also, I didn’t realize the brush came in tongue cleaning mode, which does not have a 2 minute automatic timer. So for the first few days, I brushed my teath forever just thinking the timer wasn’t working. Once I put the brush in deep clean mode though, this was resolved. Too much “figure it out on your own” for me personally, but now that I’ve found a mode I like and the timer works, I just don’t mess with it. All in all, I do think this is a phenomenal brush and I would 10/10 recommend it to anyone. It is vastly superior to my old Sonicare. Despite falling short on a few advertised features, it’s a strong intensity brush and my mouth feels amazing every time. So minus all the bells and whistles, it accomplishes it’s main function quite well.
