Description
The Oral-B Pro 1000 rechargeable electric toothbrush provides a clinically proven superior deep clean in hard-to-reach areas vs. a regular manual toothbrush. 300% MORE plaque removal along the gumline versus a regular manual toothbrush. The professionally inspired design of the CrossAction brush head surrounds each tooth with bristles angled at 16 degrees. The Oral-B Pro 1000 has 3D cleaning action that oscillates, rotates, and pulsates to break up and remove plaque along the gumline than a regular manual toothbrush. The pressure sensor stops pulsations if you brush too hard to prevent harmful over-brushing and there are 3 modes. The toothbrush also includes an in-handle timer to help you brush for a dentist-recommended two minutes. Best of all, it is brought to you by Oral-B-the #1 brand used by dentists worldwide.* *Based on surveys of a representative worldwide sample of dentists carried out for P&G regularly. Do not use on children under age 3. Replace brush (head) every 3 months or sooner if brush head becomes worn.

Q: What type of batteries does this toothbrush use?
submitted by Dog mom - 3 years ago
A: I’ve had mine for 12 years and the same battery is still charging on the charger.
submitted byskjc - 3 years ago
A:Â It comes with it's own battery. It charges by being plugged into an outlet, the toothbrush charges by being on the stand via wireless charger. Hope this helps!
submitted byLovebug4 - 3 years ago
A:Â This toothbrush comes with a NiMH (Nickel-metal hydride) battery that shouldn't be changed and is charged through a charging station. For help with the battery give us a call at (800) 566-7252.

Q: Does it come with multiple tooth brushes so that more than one person can use it?
submitted by Kelly - 5 years ago
A:Â But you can switch out the brush head (removable) for each person.
submitted byjennywren1420 - 1 year ago
A:Â The Pro 1000 only comes with one brush head.
submitted byTheOral-B brand - 3 years ago
Brand expert
A:Â The brush is easy to remove, and you can buy extra brushes for the other people to use.
submitted byjennywren1420 - 1 year ago
Q: could it be used univerally? What's the plug voltage?
submitted by Nina - 6 years ago
A:Â No. The charger only works with 120 VAC (eg US). I tried to use one in Europe with a plug converter (not a transformer) and that broke it.
submitted byLex - 5 years ago
A:Â If you have a transformer that converters your electrical service to 120 volts, then you can use it.
submitted byBob W - 6 years ago
A:Â Oral-B electric toothbrushes contain either a nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery or a lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery. NiMH batteries have a nominal voltage of 1.2 V; the Li-Ion battery has a nominal voltage of 3.6 V. The Pro Crossaction 1000 Brush has a NiMH (Nickel-metal hydride) battery.

Q: Can you use this toothbrush in the shower?
submitted by Lindsey - 6 years ago
A: Yes, all Oral-B electric toothbrushes are waterproof, so it is fine to use them in the shower. However, we don’t recommend immersing your brush in water. We recommend making sure that you completely dry the handle after use and before charging.

A:Â I never tried it but I wash mine off under the running faucet every time I use mine. The case appears to be sealed so as long as the case isn't damaged you can.
submitted byBob W - 6 years ago
Q: Is this safe with braces?
submitted by awaidley - 2 months ago
A:Â While it's safe to use any of our electric toothbrush cleaning modes on braces, we recommend using the 'Sensitive' mode. It oscillates at a lower speed for extra care and comfort along the gum line -- and around the brackets and orthodontic wires. Not all brushes offer this feature, so be sure to look for a model that features the 'Sensitive' brushing mode. In addition, while most of our electric toothbrush heads are safe to use on braces, we do not recommend using the Floss Action or 3D White head brushes. The best brush heads to use are our Oral-B Ortho brush head which is specially designed to effectively and gently clean around braces. Precision Clean is also an excellent option because it has longer bristles at the top and bottom which will "cup" around a tooth with a brace and penetrate hard-to-reach areas.

Q: I dropped my toothbrush just in the sink and since then when I turn it on it sounds like the motor or something is on but the brush doesn't rotate. do I need a new device or just a new toothbrush head
submitted by Grace - 3 months ago
A:Â We're sorry your brush stopped working. While our brushes are very durable, unfortunately, damage is possible if a brush has been dropped. We recommend first trying a different brush head to determine if the brush head was damaged. If a new brush head doesn't resolve the issue, you may need a new brush handle.
submitted byTheOral-B brand - 3 months ago
Brand expert
Q: Can you use different types of brushes? like flash brush or sensitive brush?
submitted by Kaa - 6 months ago
A:Â Oral-B offers a variety of replacement heads for your specific oral care needs. We recommend always using genuine Oral-B replacement brush heads, and all of our brush heads fit the Pro 1000 electric toothbrush handle with the exception of the iO and Pulsonic brush heads. Here is a brief rundown of compatible brush heads. (1) CrossAction: Bristles angled at 16 degrees to remove 100% more plaque (2) Pro GumCare: Ultra-thin bristles are tough on plaque while gentle on gums (3) 3D White: Polishing cup gently removes surface stains for whiter teeth (4) Floss Action: MicroPulse bristles provide superior interdental clean (5) Sensitive Gum Care: Extra soft bristles perfect for sensitive gums (6) Precision Clean: A comfortable clean that's perfect for beginners (7) Charcoal: Charcoal-infused, cup-shaped bristles remove stains, such as tea and coffee, for whiter teeth (8) Ortho: Designed to gently clean around braces (9) Dual Clean: Two moving brush heads to penetrate hard-to-reach areas (10) Interproximal Clean: Designed to clean around dental work such as crowns and bridges

Q: does the brush head rotate
submitted by Santa shopper - 6 months ago
A:Â The Oral-B Pro Crossaction 1000 feature 3D cleaning action that oscillates, rotates, and pulsates the round head to break up and remove more plaque than a regular manual toothbrush.

Q: Can a 5 year old use this?
submitted by LM - 6 months ago
A:Â We recommend using a power brush specifically designed for children. Our Oral-B Kids brushes feature a brush head that is smaller than our standard brush heads and can easily fit in smaller mouths. Many of our children's products contain an age statement, and we recommend that you follow the age guidelines on the package and choose one of our models designed for kids 3+ years of age.

Q: I noticed that the flashing light tindicating the brush is charging is much smaller than older models. Does that light flash when it needs to be recharged?
submitted by Tom - 6 months ago
A: The red light for the low battery indicator on the PRO 1000 will light up when it’s time to charge your toothbrush, as there is only enough power left in the battery for 1 or 2 more brushes.
I’ve had this brush for 3 years! My dentist noticed a remarkable improvement between appts and I haven’t even had the start of a cavity since using this!

There's a hole in the top part which makes water collect in there so the top removable part of the brush always smells even when I rinse it. Not sure why that hole is even there.
1 reply from Oral-B team - 16 days ago
The last thing we would hope for when brushing with your Pro 1000 is for you to smell something off. The openings are designed to allow water to flush through the brush head, and to allow air inside. Venting ensures the brush head dries sufficiently after use and also reduces the moisture inside. If it starts to smell, rinse your brush head after each use. We'd be more than happy to assist you further with this and answer any other questions you may have. Please call us at (800) 566-7252.

Even when unplugged for several days, this toothbrush just keeps on going; however, it does take a long time to fully charge afterwards. I don't especially like the brushhead that comes with it. I prefer the rounded brush that I was used to. This toothbrush is louder than my old one. Not sure how to work the different speed modes.

Toothbrush is very loud and almost hurts sometimes. I had my last Oral B toothbrush for over 4 years but this one quit working in less than a year. Would NOT repurchase.
1 reply from Oral-B team - 17 days ago
There's nothing more important to us than your safety and satisfaction, so we're sorry to hear that you found the brush to be loud and that it almost hurt you. This isn't what we expect with our quality and safety checks. If you have not done so already, ensure the brush is completely clean and ensure the right brush head in on the brush. This may improve things, but because we take your experience seriously, we'd like to make a report to our team and help. Please call us at (800) 566-7252.

Coming from a sonicare used for 10 years, I switched on the recommendation of my dentist. I liked the smaller head very much. It rolled off my counter 4 months after purchase and will no longer work. I dropped my sonicare multiple times and kept going. I am disappointed oral b doesn’t provide more interior cushioning. Will go back to sonicare.

But for me it is hard to turn off and on especially when compared to other Oral B models I have used. The on/off button isn't raised enough, so can make a mess in trying to turn it off at times. For the price point the brush works well though.

Definitely a worthwhile purchase. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but the battery holds a lot of charge, the two-minute timer with 30 second spacing is useful, and it cleans teeth well. The only caveat is some people might not like the spinning brush head, but I don't mind it and it is certainly not too rough.

After a year. It stopped working. 🙄
1 reply from TheOral-B brand team - 1 month ago
We're sorry your brush stopped working much sooner than would be expected. The average lifespan of an Oral-B electric toothbrush and its charger is approximately 3-5 years, and we stand behind our brushes with a 2-Year Warranty. Our products go through many quality checks and we try our very best to ensure that each meets our high performance standards. There are a few troubleshooting tips you can try. First, make sure the power outlet being used is working as it should, and is switched on if controlled by a power switch. Also, do not charge the toothbrush on a metal surface since the metal can interfere with the charging process. It you have another Oral-B charger available, try using a different charger. If you need any further assistance, please give our Oral-B Team a call at 1-800-566-7252 from 9AM -- 6PM EST Monday–Friday. We'll be standing by.

This toothbrush is LOUD. And there’s only one setting which isn’t good if you have sensitive teeth.
1 reply from TheOral-B brand team - 1 month ago
We want and expect your brushing sessions to be enjoyable with all of our brushes. Of course, our Pro 1000 isn't an exception, so we're sorry to hear that it's too loud for you, and that one of the settings wasn't for you. As you can imagine, everyone has different brushing needs, so we suggest using the brushing mode that's perfect for you. While there is expected to be some noise, if it's unexpectedly loud, we suggest double-checking to see if the brush head is on correctly. This may help, but your feedback is important, and we'd love to hear from you about this and assist you further. Please call us at (800) 566-7252.

It looks like the one we replaced, but the on/off button seems slightly misplaced and it takes a little hunting around to get it to go on and off. Don't know if it is the design or if we got a lemon.

I like that’s easy to use I feel that it cleans my teeth very good. Another thing I like it’s that it’s rechargeable so I won’t have to be buying batteries. The only bad thing is it’s a bit loud and I can’t change the speed because it only comes with one option.
