Q: What type of batteries does this toothbrush use?

submitted by Dog mom - 5 years ago
  • A: its a rechargeable device doesnt need batteries

    submitted bypmlc220394 - 1 month ago
  • A: This toothbrush comes with a NiMH (Nickel-metal hydride) battery that shouldn't be changed and is charged through a charging station. For help with the battery give us a call at (800) 566-7252.

    submitted byOral-B - 5 years ago

  • A: Have mine for a few years. The battery indicator stopped working but it never runs out of power when using it. Hmmmmm

submitted bykaicanoe - 10 months ago
  • A: It comes with it's own battery. It charges by being plugged into an outlet, the toothbrush charges by being on the stand via wireless charger. Hope this helps!

    submitted byLovebug4 - 5 years ago
  • A: I’ve had mine for 12 years and the same battery is still charging on the charger.

submitted byskjc - 4 years ago

Q: Does this toothbrush have a battery status warning light?

submitted by Les - 1 year ago
  • A: Yes, it will blink red.

submitted bytheconsciousconsumer - 1 month ago
  • A: Mine does have a light that flashes red when it starts to get low. Not sure what the “expert” is talking about lol

submitted byJax - 2 months ago
  • A: No, there is no warning light when the battery runs low.

Q: Does it come with multiple tooth brushes so that more than one person can use it?

submitted by Kelly - 6 years ago
  • A: But you can switch out the brush head (removable) for each person.

    submitted byjennywren1420 - 3 years ago
  • A: The Pro 1000 only comes with one brush head.

    submitted byOral-B - 5 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: The brush is easy to remove, and you can buy extra brushes for the other people to use.

    submitted byjennywren1420 - 3 years ago

Q: could it be used univerally? What's the plug voltage?

submitted by Nina - 7 years ago
  • A: Oral-B electric toothbrushes contain either a nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery or a lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery. NiMH batteries have a nominal voltage of 1.2 V; the Li-Ion battery has a nominal voltage of 3.6 V. The Pro Crossaction 1000 Brush has a NiMH (Nickel-metal hydride) battery.

  • A: If you have a transformer that converters your electrical service to 120 volts, then you can use it.

    submitted byBob W - 7 years ago
  • A: No. The charger only works with 120 VAC (eg US). I tried to use one in Europe with a plug converter (not a transformer) and that broke it.

submitted byLex - 6 years ago

Q: Can you use this toothbrush in the shower?

submitted by Lindsey - 8 years ago
  • A: Yes, all Oral-B electric toothbrushes are waterproof, so it is fine to use them in the shower. However, we don’t recommend immersing your brush in water. We recommend making sure that you completely dry the handle after use and before charging.

    submitted byOral-B - 5 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: I never tried it but I wash mine off under the running faucet every time I use mine. The case appears to be sealed so as long as the case isn't damaged you can.

    submitted byBob W - 7 years ago
  • A: Yes but its a monumental waste of water and energy to heat that water. Even worse than leaving the water running while brushing.

submitted byZika - 4 months ago

Q: I have mine a month now and it leaves a white residue when left standing in the bathroom cabinet. The toothpaste I use is green and I wipe the brush down before putting it in the cabinet. Any ideas?

submitted by Jim - 10 months ago
  • A: There is nothing in the toothbrush that will leave a residue, and making sure to clean it after every use is what we would recommend, Jim. Call us at (800) 566-7252 so we can look into this further.

    submitted byOral-B - 10 months ago

  • A: Probably the scale in the water and residual water and toothpaste stuck in the nooks and crannies and under 5be brush head. I shake off and dry the entire wand with a towel after removing the head and do the same with the head and store it off the wand between brushing.

submitted byZika - 4 months ago

Q: Is it ADA approved?

submitted by Tgdolly - 10 months ago
  • A: We'd like to get more information about your question, so when you have time, please get in touch with us at (800) 566-7252.

  • A: Probably not since they won't answer the question.

Q: Does the charger have a standard electric plug in or a usb?

submitted by Sk - 1 year ago
  • A: This toothbrush uses an electric plug. There is no USB.

Q: how long does it last after a full charge

submitted by jazzcam - 7 months ago
  • A: A full charge can take up to 22 hours and enables up to ten days of regular brushing (twice a day, 2 minutes).

Summary of reviews

The Oral-B Pro CrossAction 1000 electric toothbrush receives mixed feedback, with guests appreciating its effective cleaning power and plaque removal capabilities. However, concerns about its noise level, lack of a travel cap, and durability issues are noted. The strong motor and circular brush head are highlighted, but some guests find the toothbrush too aggressive for sensitive teeth and gums. The design changes, particularly the on/off button, have received criticism for being less user-friendly than previous models.

I don’t understand how a design can be so horrible on a well-known brand. I got it because it had good reviews online. I am not pleased at all. It’s heavy and so messy and there’s mold inside the groove in the toothbrush head after a month, even though i rinse, wipe and dry the head and the base after each time I use it. Heck I even q-tip rubbing alcohol cleaned the i side of the head - mold reappeared. It’s just disgusting how you can never get the head clean. I ordered the soft brush heads because the ones that came with the toothbrush were so hard. Even the soft ones make my gums bleed and my gums never bled before. Absolutely the worst electric toothbrush I have ever used.

bought for my kid last year 10/6/23 and it died a few days ago. It charges, but when you press the button all it does is buzz and doesn't vibrate the end piece. Your mileage may vary with this basic model!

Less than a year after purchasing, it will no longer hold a charge. Will turn on for 30 seconds and then it’s dead. Would rather spend the money on a toothbrush that will last longer

I purchased three of these and didn't realize that my child's toothbrush (this one in pink) only had one setting while the other two had three. I assumed the pink one was somehow a step down from the others. Turned out it was suppose to have three settings all along and only has one. It also has stopped holding a charge after a year. My other two are still alright, but are coming up on the year mark as well. I'm glad I purchased the protection plan for all of them as that's what I'm now having to use to hopefully get a refund on an item that's apparently been broken this whole time. On another note, these are highly recommended by my kids' dentist and I like that they're rechargeable. You do need to clean the open areas of the toothbrush (the head) frequently as it just allows stuff to sit in there and then you put it back in your mouth. :/

I have been a loyal Oral-B user for decades, but the newest iO design is impossible to clean. So I thought going back to this older model would work. Nope, it's sluggish and harsh on my gums even with a soft brush attachment. Terrible.

After 3 months of use it will no longer hold a charge. An hour charge and it dies after 2 minutes of brushing. Not worth the price to be essentially useless after only a few months.

Good power and love the 30 second quadrant timers. The switch is easy to turn on but difficult to turn off. It is also very slippery with no grip so as soon as it gets wet, your hand starts to slide up the brush.

Bought this to replace one that I accidentally left on vacation. It works very well, and it charges easily on the charger. I've used this model for years with no problems, except for leaving it on vacation. Love this toothbrush and recommend it.

Had the previous version and it lasted several years and didn’t need charging very often. This one needs constant recharging and is getting weaker every time. Good toothbrush if it wasn’t for that. I don’t expect it to last very much longer. Disappointed.

It started out great but after only a week the head doesn’t spin. It stops spinning and just vibrates once it’s on my teeth. The only way it keeps spinning is if it’s barely touching my teeth, but that’s not getting them cleaned. Extremely disappointed.

Disappointed. I went to the reviews and there is rust in the toothbrush and mold does grow in the brush head space, even if you rinse it off. I am going to return or contact Braun. I have other toothbrushes that this doesn’t happen to. Waste of money and now time. Don’t buy!

Instructions Too Dense

4 out of 5 stars
ExampleTim - 3 months ago
originally posted on Oral-B
I think that I like this toothbrush, but the instructions are not helpful. The print is tiny because they try to pack in information in several languages and for several different models plus all the lawyer dictated warnings. All I wanted to know is why there are three different button presses on the toothbrush and what they do. It seems to be sensitivity settings or something of that nature, but nowhere does it say, "press once for x, press twice for y, & press three times for z." Perhaps I should get out my microscope to take another look at the very fine print. It might be in there somewhere.
