Q: Are bristles soft? Do I have a choice: soft, medium, hard?
A: I've used this toothbrush and replacement heads for many years. The variety of Oral B replacement brushes includes one for sensitive gums, and that is the only one which has the kind of "soft" bristles I need to use. I tried a couple other kinds of Oral B replacement brushes and they were definitely not the kind of soft I need. I suspect that buzzwords are replacing professional terms in this market. The last time I ordered replacements the sensitive gums were still the "correct" soft and I hope they don't mess with it.
submitted byKatyshopper - 5 years agoA: Great question, Olivia. All of our replacement brush heads come with soft bristles.

Q: I was recently given this toothbrush as a gift. How do you put the batteries in???
A: We're happy to outline the steps to replace the batteries in our Oral-B Pro 100. (1) Hold the brush firmly and press both dots above the battery cap at the base of the brush. (2) Gently pull to remove the cap. (3) When you remove the cap, you'll see icons on the bottom of the brush handle indicating whether the battery's plus (+) or minus (-) end should be facing towards the bottom. It varies depending on which side of the brush you're looking at. Only AA Alkaline batteries are recommended.(4) Clean the area around the black rubber ring (just above the battery case opening) and replace the cap. (5) Push the cap straight on (no need to twist) and ensure the cap clicks firmly into place. It takes a little bit of force to push it on and snap into place.(6) If you have further questions or need more help, give us a call at 1-800-566-7252 from 9AM -- 6PM EST Monday -- Friday.

Q: Is this brush good for braces?
A: All of our manual, battery-power and electric toothbrushes and irrigators can be used on braces. While it's safe to use any of our electric toothbrush cleaning modes on braces, we recommend using the sensitive mode which is featured on some of our rechargeable models. When using Sensitive mode, it oscillates at a lower speed for extra care and comfort along the gum line -- and around the brackets and orthodontic wires.

Q: Does it come with batteries? If so, how long Does the batteries it comes with last?
A: This model does come complete with batteries. Fresh alkaline batteries should last 4 -6 weeks when brushing for 2 minutes, 2x a day. One tip we recommend is to be sure to not use too much pressure when brushing and let the brush do the work. Using more pressure can affect the run time.

Q: Show the battery placement for an Oral B toothbrush
A: We're happy to detail the steps for changing batteries. When inserting the replacement batteries, please be sure they're in the correct position as indicated by the plus (+) and minus (-) symbols on the bottom of the handle. Insert new AA alkaline batteries with the plus (+) end inserted towards the top of the handle. As you go to replace the cap, it may take a little extra force to firmly push the cap until it clicks into place. If you need any further assistance, please give our Oral-B Team a call at 1-800-566-7252 from 9AM -- 6PM EST Monday–Friday.

Q: After I put the batteries in and tried pressing the button The toothbrush won’t work. Any reason why that may be?
A: This certainly doesn’t sound like the quality that we’d expect, Matthew! Please check to make sure the batteries are correctly inserted in the battery compartment (with the plus and minus signs in the right position). If this doesn’t work, then please try new AA batteries. If you’re still experiencing issues, then give us a call at (800) 566-7252. We’d love to help!

Q: How does this battery operated compare to the rechargeable models? Does it have the same power?
A: The battery-operated toothbrushes are a bit slower in rotation than our rechargeable models but both are great at providing a brilliant clean.
