Q: Are bristles soft? Do I have a choice: soft, medium, hard?

submitted by Olivia - 7 years ago
  • A: I've used this toothbrush and replacement heads for many years. The variety of Oral B replacement brushes includes one for sensitive gums, and that is the only one which has the kind of "soft" bristles I need to use. I tried a couple other kinds of Oral B replacement brushes and they were definitely not the kind of soft I need. I suspect that buzzwords are replacing professional terms in this market. The last time I ordered replacements the sensitive gums were still the "correct" soft and I hope they don't mess with it.

submitted byKatyshopper - 5 years ago
  • A: Great question, Olivia. All of our replacement brush heads come with soft bristles.

Q: Is this the dark blue and white color?

submitted by Jojo - 4 months ago
  • A: While these brushes come in a variety of colors, we'd recommend contacting Target directly if there's a specific color choice you'd like to order.

Q: Which replacement heads go with this toothbrush?

submitted by bklynmom - 10 months ago
  • A: This brush is compatible with all Oral-B rechargeable brush heads (e.g., Deep Sweep, Floss Action, CrossAction).

Q: I was recently given this toothbrush as a gift. How do you put the batteries in???

submitted by Baffled - 2 years ago
  • A: We're happy to outline the steps to replace the batteries in our Oral-B Pro 100. (1) Hold the brush firmly and press both dots above the battery cap at the base of the brush. (2) Gently pull to remove the cap. (3) When you remove the cap, you'll see icons on the bottom of the brush handle indicating whether the battery's plus (+) or minus (-) end should be facing towards the bottom. It varies depending on which side of the brush you're looking at. Only AA Alkaline batteries are recommended.(4) Clean the area around the black rubber ring (just above the battery case opening) and replace the cap. (5) Push the cap straight on (no need to twist) and ensure the cap clicks firmly into place. It takes a little bit of force to push it on and snap into place.(6) If you have further questions or need more help, give us a call at 1-800-566-7252 from 9AM -- 6PM EST Monday -- Friday.

Q: Is this brush good for braces?

submitted by Mom - 2 years ago
  • A: All of our manual, battery-power and electric toothbrushes and irrigators can be used on braces. While it's safe to use any of our electric toothbrush cleaning modes on braces, we recommend using the sensitive mode which is featured on some of our rechargeable models. When using Sensitive mode, it oscillates at a lower speed for extra care and comfort along the gum line -- and around the brackets and orthodontic wires.

Q: Does it come with batteries? If so, how long Does the batteries it comes with last?

submitted by Skyrav - 2 years ago
  • A: This model does come complete with batteries. Fresh alkaline batteries should last 4 -6 weeks when brushing for 2 minutes, 2x a day. One tip we recommend is to be sure to not use too much pressure when brushing and let the brush do the work. Using more pressure can affect the run time.

Q: Show the battery placement for an Oral B toothbrush

submitted by Cynthia - 3 years ago
  • A: We're happy to detail the steps for changing batteries. When inserting the replacement batteries, please be sure they're in the correct position as indicated by the plus (+) and minus (-) symbols on the bottom of the handle. Insert new AA alkaline batteries with the plus (+) end inserted towards the top of the handle. As you go to replace the cap, it may take a little extra force to firmly push the cap until it clicks into place. If you need any further assistance, please give our Oral-B Team a call at 1-800-566-7252 from 9AM -- 6PM EST Monday–Friday.

Q: After I put the batteries in and tried pressing the button The toothbrush won’t work. Any reason why that may be?

submitted by Matthew Corona - 4 years ago
  • A: This certainly doesn’t sound like the quality that we’d expect, Matthew! Please check to make sure the batteries are correctly inserted in the battery compartment (with the plus and minus signs in the right position). If this doesn’t work, then please try new AA batteries. If you’re still experiencing issues, then give us a call at (800) 566-7252. We’d love to help!

Q: How does this battery operated compare to the rechargeable models? Does it have the same power?

submitted by BethB - 4 years ago
  • A: The battery-operated toothbrushes are a bit slower in rotation than our rechargeable models but both are great at providing a brilliant clean.

On/off button garbage

KayVee - 22 days ago
Used the first day, worked fine. The second day it only works if you keep the on/off button pressed. Not user friendly to keep it pressed while brushing. Others have noted it is hard to remove the battery cap. There are hard to see bumps on each side by the cap you must push to pop the cap off.

I'd rate a 0 if I could, it's garbage. I Bought this less than two months ago, replaced the batteries after four days, six weeks in the batteries were getting slow, I thought it was fast but could be the batteries, this morning it will not turn on, fresh new and tested batteries, still dead. It took lares than two months for it to die. I will never buy another one, and I will tell anyone I ever see looking at them what complete garbage they are.

I purchased this item September 21, 2023 and replaced the batteries twice and it will not work! What’s the point in making the heads replaceable if you have to replace the entire toothbrush less than a year of purchase.

I just purchased this and when received it had no written instructions other than the side of the box. the part where you install the batteries was difficult to open. Once batteries were installed the brush began operating. I ousted the button to stop it but it would not. Removed the battery box top again and replaced it then it stopped. When I used it it was hard to stop it from operating.. Poorly made. Guess they want to upsale you.

I’ve had for 3 months and it no longer works. Brush head will not consistently stay on
1 reply from Oral-B team - 3 months ago
We're so sorry to hear about what's going on. It could be possible that hardened toothpaste is preventing the brush from spinning. Try fully charging your brush and rinse the head with warm running water to see if this helps. They can be reached at (800) 566-7252.

Originally, I enjoyed this toothbrush. My teeth felt very clean. However, I had this toothbrush for less than one month before it completely stopped working, even with a battery change. If you’d like a $16 short term toothbrush, then this is a great option. If you are looking for something that works longer than a few weeks, look elsewhere.
1 reply from Oral-B team - 4 months ago
As you can imagine, we expect your brush to last far more than just a few weeks. We're sorry to hear about this. We'd love to gather more details about what's going on so we can appropriately troubleshoot and assist you. We can be reached at (800) 566-7252.

I initially bought this toothbrush to test an electric toothbrush. Over a year later, it still functions (not sure what issues arise with others. I change the brush heads once the bristles turn white (they start blue) and I replace the batteries as needed (you’ll know because the power will decrease). Although my toothbrush is still functioning I think over a year is time for another. I hope it’s just like my first purchase. Definitely recommend and have even bought for others.

I bought this to use during a trip to Europe. It worked perfectly for two weeks, and then it began to stutter, slow down and/or stop intermittently, making it quite difficult to discern the timer pulses. Perhaps the brush simply needs fresh batteries; I left the brush at my destination & will try new batteries when I return.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience using the Pro-Health Clinical toothbrush. We would certainly expect the brush to last longer than 2 weeks, especially since we put our products through such extensive quality checks to ensure perfect condition and function. This is my second Oral B 100 toothbrush. The first was fine. I could not remove the battery cap on the new toothbrush. I ended up using the new head on my old base.
