Just terrible! I usually buy Chaokoh brand of coconut milk but tried this because it was organic and on special. Never again! It tastes like soap and has a very unnatural consistency.
Love this! The bad reviews must not be used to canned coconut milk. This is the creamiest CANNED one I've ever found. All others you have to shake SO much to try and mix and they end up with a huge chunk of the fat together. This actually stays liquid so it's great especially to mix in drinks or cold dishes so you don't have to whisk and still end up with chunks. Has a slight nutty taste to it though. And a good price!
I always have coconut milk unhand for when I run out of my Coconut Almond milk for frothing my morning cappuccino. First time I have ever been not only disappointed, but disgusted!! This stuff is very thick and heavy.......certainly not milk. Too thick to pour, and very waxy tasting. A slight coconut smell, but that is all. I would never recommend this to anyone! However there was one compensation; rather than throwing it out, I scooped a little it into a small container and whipped it into an egg for basting my sourdough french bread, and it did great for that.
I wish I could give zero stars. They make you think you are making a healthy choice by saying "unsweetened." This is a sickly-sweet concoction that is a poor excuse for coconut milk. I wasted so many fresh, organic (EXPENSIVE!) vegetables by trying to make a curry with this coconut milk. Please don't waste your money on this and get coconut milk with no other ingredients. I am so upset and plan to write to the company
Thick, creamy, and tastes great. Works well in dairy-free desserts and also in asian dishes (like Thai curries). I think it's the best canned coconut milk I've ever tasted.
I was so excited when I saw Target had organic unsweetened coconut milk for such a great price. But. This stuff is gross. A lot of canned coconut milks have guar gum to thicken them, but this stuff must have a ton of it. It makes it very thick and changes the taste. This coconut milk is vile. All I can taste is the guar gum. I read the other reviews of this before purchasing and I have zero idea how anyone could say this stuff tastes good.
