Ortho Home Defense Indoor & Perimeter Insect Killer 1.1 Gallon Ready to Use Wand

Moved here from NJ 1.5 years ago and after all my years I finally met a cockroach! Around here they call them Palmetto bugs. They are bigger than any bug I ever saw and move like a jet. Ran, did not walk to HD and bought a jug, figured out the wand and tackled the foundation. It took 20 minutes and just because , I Went around twice. The very next am the ants were gone and I haven’t seen another bug since...esp a cockroach! We have an elevated deck and I Purchased food grade Dimatermaceous earth and circled the deck. Then for insurance I sprayed an extra band of Home Defense outside The deck. Since then. No bugs!! None! I went back to HD and bought two more jugs. I am BUG FREE! THANKS!!

I've bought this product twice. Both times the wand stops working when either a.) you need to refill the bottle or b.) you tug too hard on the tube at the spout. This will frustrate you to no end. This product has a way of ruining my day every time I use it.

1would not use rhis again. Only made them come out worst. Will have to try something stronger '

I use it outside around perimeter of house when it is dry out... I can tell it works bc after I spray there’s always dead insects laying around...it last about a month and I use bc I hate spiders.

Bought around the beginning of October 2019 Have used the product before however this time it seems like Ortho May have skimped on or changed the formula Finding it less effective than before Have had 2 roaches this month somehow Survive treatment and oddly a grasshopper. Y’all need to make this stuff stronger not weaker more effective also maybe try to increase the list of pests/bugs this stuff effectively kills and deters. Improve the formula cause y’all seem to be slacking Other than that the product is pretty good Again I’ve used it before and considered it to be top tier pest control on previous use and purchases so I’m disheartened by this recent go around. I’ll give it one or 2 more tries tho since for 4 years it was great product and honest 7 stars out of 5 it was that good I get the refills or refills with hand operated manual pull n spray wand I’ll agree with some folks the wands can be a pain or unreliable tho Still up till this point I’m so grateful Ortho and this product have existed

I purchased this product for my home and patio. The product seems to work ok but the motor on the wand has stopped working. I thought maybe it might be the batteries so I put in new batteries and the wand still won't work. I can't apply the product because the wand quit working. Now I'll have to spend more money to buy a sprayer so that I can use the 3/4 of the product that is left in the container. Very frustrating!

A friend at work reccomended Home Defense. Every summer when temperatures reached 100 plus, the ants moved inside with us. It was awful and a lot of effort went into protecting foodstuffs and killing ants. Now, every summer, before the ant home invasion, I clear the perimeter of the house of vegetation and spray the bottom couple of feet. No more ants to deal with indoors!

I'm on my 4th jug over a couple years. All four wands/sprayers have broken right from the get go or shortly after. Ortho even sent me a new wand that also broke. Spend another dollar or two (in China) to make a better reliable wand, please. The product works fantastic for the price now make a great wand to go with it.
