I just purchased this and the second time I went to use it the spring in the lid locking mechanism is all rusty. Why in a good product would you use a poor quality spring? What are my options to fix this, I don’t want rust leaking into my food! I like the product just not the rust!
The Oster 10-cup food processor is made in China. I have an old Oster blender that is 20 years old. It is a sturdy work-horse. When it came time to buy a new food processor I thought I would try an Oster. This unit is not very sturdy. The base of the unit that houses the motor is made of thin plastic that flexes with a bit of pressure. The blades for the unit are also thin. The plastic bowl is thin and would probably not survive being dropped. I don’t think this unit will last very long in my kitchen. It’s disappointing that not many small appliances are made in the USA. I wouldn’t mind paying more for a sturdy, quality small appliance that is made in the USA. I’m considering returning this.

I have had mine for 4 months. The first problem is I was grating cheese and some of the cheese got lodge in the safety spring mechanism at the top. Gross. Then the safety lock broke off and now there is no use for it anymore, I won’t work. It was not strong at all.
I've purchased two of these Total Prep 10-cup Food Processors, it's amazing what I can do with this mighty gauget, however the plastic is not as solid as the motor itself. My first device the plastic canster cracked all the way down the side, and the second one the plastic pin inside the handle crack off, preventing it from starting up...I'm so bummed! I want to know if oster could provide me with another canister for free?

Please help me I just bought the Oster 10 cup Processor and was over joyed but did'nt get the chance to use til today and read the directions did everything according to hoyle and it does'nt turn on nothing nada not a whirrrrr or a buzzz how do I return my processor and get a different one??

i bought this about a week ago just got around to cooking. I tried to shred some cheese and the motor smells like its burning up, that acrid electrical burning. motor is under powered and blades are not well balanced for shredding food.

I bought the processor in mid December. Quickly noticed that there are problems in inside of the handle of the lid. There is a vertical slit which the other part goes in catches food particles and moisture.
Because of the moisture, the small spring/wire supporting the security lock system got already rusty.
I had to return the item. I have sent images to Oster through Facebook on January 9. As of today Jan 19, nothing came back.
The blades were not good enough to make smooth pure from steamed vegetables - such as fennel, chick peas.
The capacity and value may be good, while quality to carry on the purpose, as well as the structure/design, disappointing.
