Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks in this handy 6-slice convection toaster oven from Oster®. It toasts, bakes and broils a variety of foods. Best of all, the silver and stainless steel color scheme ensures it will look great right on your countertop for on-demand cooking.
I've had this toaster oven for about a year and a quarter. It looked and worked great, once I learned to use the turbo/convection setting (which wasn't clear and I had to research it online) so that my food would bake evenly vs. the bake setting which would top burn the food before thoroughly baked. Still, overall I was happy with the features, the toast function, and the fact that it has a large capacity for a small amount of space. That is, until the other day when while I had it on a 60 minute timer and the handle suddenly just fell off. The plastic attachment completely melted off, spurring me to go searching for another model. Unfortunately, most of the other models I found out there for this size do not have a solid steel bar attached directly to the door. I guess they just don't make things as they used to. One other feature I wish toasters had today in general that seems to be missing in most is the hook on the door to pull out the tray. It really made it so much easier to get the tray out to get to the food rather than having to put on an oven mitt to pull it out. I don't understand why companies have been leaving this valuable feature out. I hope that Oster takes note of this and incorporates it into future models.
there aren't settings for toast and bagel so you have to do trial and error before you find out what works. I baked a frozen pizza which said use 450 temp which was way too hot AND uneven baking.. Also burned cookies on the bottom although the tops looked just right. Also the whole unit heats up a lot - outside too so be careful not to touch it. It will heat up the whole kitchen so will probably have to take it outside in the summer to use it. Gave it a 2 star rating because it does turn on
I purchased this used about a year ago from a neighbor that didn't have any use for it and I love it. I use it almost daily because I live in a efficiency and have made several items with it from meatloaf to baked pasta and roasted vegetables. No complaints other than it it takes up quite a bit of my counter space, but well worth it considering that prior to getting this my diet consisted of primarily food that I cooked in a microwave. This is the perfect size for the Totino's party Pizza. I've found that most other Pizza's will work if you cut them in half. My biggest complaint is clean up, it seems to be much harder to clean up than your regular full size oven so I've just quit doing that all together and my second biggest complaint is that I do wish that it was slightly larger. Maybe large enough to do a 12" pizza...
