Q: How many inches are the waffles?

A: I bought this waffle machine because it is ceramic instead of iron and is a good waffle maker, makes the 1 1/2 inches waffle if you like thickness. The fact that is ceramic is a plus because my last machine I spent a lot and after a year got all rusty! There is nothing wrong with this machine. I recommend it. Do not believe the previous review that says it is trash because is not!

A: The waffle maker's green light turns on to show you it's ready for the batter to be poured into it. You must tell it's done by watching the steam - it reduces when it's done.

submitted byiris - 8 months agoA: Great question. When the proper baking temperature is reached, the green light will go on. Once heated up, cycle times will be faster. Once you pour the batter onto the bottom grid of the waffle maker(at this point the green light will go off as the baking cycle begins). There is no exact time because there is an indicator light and Your waffles should be done according to the Waffle Temperature Control setting that you’ve chosen. If you want them darker, close the lid and continue baking until the desired color is achieved. When baking is complete, simply unplug the power cord from wall outlet. Leave waffle maker open to cool. Do not clean until unit has cooled.

Please be advised that the plates for this waffle maker is not removable. For proper cleaning, brush away any loose crumbs from the grooves. Wipe grids clean with a paper towel, absorbing any oil or butter that might be down in the grooves of the grid. You can also wipe grids with a damp cloth. Q: Is the coating both PTFE & PFOAs free? (it only stated PFOA free..) Also its coating is mainly diamond forced which doesn't include ceramic coating as stated in product description, correct?

Was excited to try this waffle iron. We just used it for the first time tonight and the top isn't going into the batter. It just basically sits on top and there are no grooves or pockets in the waffles! It's basically flat until you open the cover to get the waffle out. The underneath side is pretty with deep pockets but the other side is basically flat. Going to return it as soon as possible!

I LOVE my Oster flip waffle maker. After using flip waffle makers in motels, I had to have one. It is so fast and easy to use. I have perfected the recipe I need for one or two people, and just now finished eating a delicious waffle. It took some trial and error to get the recipe and cooking time just right. I am grateful for a helpful tip for cooking time, "Don't look at the lights. Watch the steam flow." When the steam stops appearing, the waffle is probably ready. I like mine a little crispy on the outside so I cook them a little bit longer. I spray the surface occasionally with cooking spray and I only wipe out the waffle maker. I rarely use soap and water on the cooking surface. It is "blackening" and making an even better cooking surface with age. It is tricky to get the consistency of the batter just right, it takes practice so that it isn't too thick or too thin. It is easy to overflow and underfill the wafflemaker, again, it takes practice to get it just right. I use Hungry Jack mix and use 1C mix, 1/2 cup water, 1/8 C oil and one and a half eggs. I use a whole egg and the white of an additional egg. I also overflow the cup of mix, water and add a tad bit more oil than 1/8. This is my interpretation of what half of the recipe on the box says. Sometimes I use milk instead of water. Remember to heat up the waffle maker before using and unplug it when finished!!!
Spill plate does not fit securely underneath

I purchased this waffle iron years ago it was great I had to replace it after about 7-8 years the new one the spill plate while it has grooves on its bottom to make it fit securely to the bottom beam underneath the grill, However, there are no grooves in the bottom beam so that the spill plate doesn't fit securely underneath the waffle iron. So had to return it.

We bought this makers about a month ago and I have used it three or four times and when it worked it worked great. All of a sudden it just shut off and won't power on. Pretty bummed. I don't have the box or paper trail for the warranty if I did I would try to replace it.

This waffle iron makes the best waffles I have ever eaten. If you follow the instructions in the booklet, the iron is simple to use, and each waffle is consistently perfect. With just a little spray of Pam on each side with each waffle, the waffles come out very easily. The Classic Waffle and Old World Belgian Waffle recipes are fluffy and delicious.

Best waffle maker ever! Makes fluffy Belgian style waffles. So glad I went with this one. The nonstick function is awesome. You can also adjust the darkness of your waffle thus making every family member happy.
Uneven cooking, locking mechanism broken or non-existent

All the waffles we tried to make with this waffle maker were burnt on one corner and raw in the other. This may be due to the locking mechanism being broken(or maybe not existing?)— because when it was flipped over to start cooking it wouldn’t lock into place straight. Not worth the money.

Item came packaged well! However, the top part seems to be very loose or poorly made. Due to the price I got this for, I'll just keep it instead of returning! But honestly, this should be much cheaper than the price I paid for it due to the construction and poor instructions

Two issues I had with this unit. First: there was a rather strong burning plastic smell for the first time. This is normal for these units, but the smell was espiecially strong for this one. Second: this was the deal breaker for me. The little pin (see image) that is suppose to enable the unit to rotate was constantly tilted, meaning I couldn't lock this fully and rotate it. Perhaps I got a faulty unit. But when you buy yours, use it within the return period to make sure it actually works.

This waffle marker is terrible. I had the waffle maker 24 hours already not heating. The best part the company knows their customers have this issue yet nothing has been addressed when it comes to fixing the waffle maker. Very very disappointed.
