This is the second one I've purchased that leaks out of the bottom. I threw the first one away and bought this one. After 7 months of having and only using it for 3 months to make smoothies, the bottom leaks no matter what I do. I follow the instructions on what to add first and how much liquid to put in, but it leaks and I've even had the bottom open up even though it's screwed on tight. When it worked without leaking, I loved it. It blended everything together and was very easy to clean (I handwashed). Not pleased I spent my money on something that doesn't work again.

I love this blender. I am able to grind grain very fine. We use it for blending greens, for doing small mixing in the blender cup. It's about as good as it gets. And Oster stand behind their warrantys. Thank you, Oster. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I bought this as an alternative to more expensive blenders for juicing because it has a strong motor and a glass jar and was priced much lower. It's worked great for me. I use it a lot for making smoothies from apples and kale and also use it as a regular blender for liquids.
This is the second cutting blade I have bought. It slides up and down and leaks out from bottom. It is not the seals, I have replaced them as well. The cutting blade, moves up and down and is sloppy. Then it leaks where the "star" point is on the blender. I have just a blending blade and it does not move up and down like this one is. Nor does it leak.

I have been buying & re-buying this blender for years with the 2 year service plan. I make an ice filled smoothie every day and use it for other things too. I expect a lot from it & it performs great - for just under 2 years. With my first purchase I also got the 2 year service plan. When the blender motor burned out it was one week before the end of the 2 years. Filed my claim & was sent a check to replace blender. When I used that check to buy the next one I again got the 2 year service plan. And it goes on & on like that. Every 2 years I basically pay only for the service plan & get a new blender.

I had an Oster previous to purchasing this one which lasted me 11 years. I used the new one for the first time this morning and it did not seem to blend fast. I think the smoothie was too thick. I am going to use the helpful hint provided and blend one thing at a time then blend everything all at once. I am not giving up I do like that it. I also think I am not used to the reverse crush feature. I plan on keeping it and using it a lot more. BTW I am a newbie to making smoothies.
