Q: Does this still alert you if the baby's oxygen level is low?

A: Hi Rachel - thanks for reaching out! The Dream Sock does not alert, notify or prompt for irregular heart rates or oxygen levels. However, the Dream Sock does still track heart rate and oxygen levels, as these are quality indicators to help track and report on how well your baby is sleeping. While not displayed in the Dream App, oxygen is among the sleep quality indicators tracked to inform how well your baby is sleeping. If your baby’s oxygen levels were to drop, you would be prompted by the Base Station of your Dream Sock to check on your baby due to a sleep disturbance. You would not be alerted to the specific cause (in this case, irregular oxygen rates), but you would be able to see what your baby’s heart rate was during the time of the prompt.

A: Hi Amanda, The Dream Sock and Base Station communicate via bluetooth. The App is connected to wifi and the base station sends info to the Owlet cloud via wifi. The Owlet cloud enables data to be shown in the app. The cam is 2.4 gHZ WiFi only and does not have any bluetooth connectivity. Thanks!

This camera is way overpriced. I would have returned it but I got it before my son was here. The live video is delayed so I can hear my son cry while I’m in the living room before it actually shows on the camera. The camera also gets extremely hot which is a hazard in my opinion. Only reason I’m giving a two star is because The sock was useful during the time he was sick but I know there are other products that can measure his oxygen level. If I could go back in time I would have just purchased the sock and looked elsewhere for the camera.

I would not recommend buying this to any parent. I was so excited to get this before having my first baby. I researched a ton and decided to try this over other similar products like the Nanit. I am so frustrated I did because all it’s done is give false alarms and constantly has sock placement issues when we put it on correctly each time. It was also somewhat frustrating to set up in the beginning due to not connecting as easily as it should have. I also wish they still provided stats in real-time versus a 10-minute average. Overall, would not buy if you’re thinking this will provide peace of mind — it only provides frustration.

We got this because we'd heard so much good about it. But apparently the sock is the only good part. After old a few months of use the camera becomes unreliable and for parents who are trying to keep an eye on their littles while they do chorse or get woke up by the monitor before baby gets to upset. Please save you money and buy a different camera. The sock is amazing and ive loved it. But i had to replace the camera with a different brand less then 6 months after purchase and my little didnt even start using it till she was 4 months old. So 2 months of use and the camera was useless. Leaving us in a tight spot. 100% recommend the sock. 110% dont recommend this camera.

I think it’s too coincidental for our sock to stop giving readings almost exactly after our son turns a year old and the “warranty” is expired to replace the sensor(warranty is apparently good for 1 year). Why would I put out more money for another sensor that will only be good for so long? The products we purchased from you Owlet are already extremely expensive. To then be told there’s nothing they can do accept offer a discount for another sensor. It all seems like a money grab. I will not be recommending this product to anyone and will discourage them from doing so. I will leave this comment on every platform I can (wherever your products are sold) so that other parents are warned and don’t have to bother wasting their money. ***AGAIN*** the quality of this product only lasts for so long.

I thought this would be the greatest peace of mind when we had our baby. And I’ll admit it’s nice that the base station still works without Wi-Fi or being connected to the app, which is good because it’s constantly having connectivity issues. If it’s not the internet it’s the app. I thought when I read other reviews about connectivity issues, that it was probably user error or their Wi-Fi wasn’t great, and that I wouldn’t have issues…but I was wrong. My base station is no more than 6 feet away from my modem at all times. It’s a real shame that for the money you spend on this, that it doesn’t work better.

There are two products here, so let’s talk about the sock first. The sock is not perfect, it sometimes sets off an alarm when it gets loose, etc, but it does give you piece of mind, especially as a new parent, those first few weeks at home. We personally used the sock for the first 6 weeks our son was home, and since have only used it on nights when he’s sick and as we transitioned him from our room to his nursery. If you want piece of mind, go ahead and buy the sock but I would not recommend buying the camera. The camera connects to the app, and it is extremely laggy. I constantly have to close the app and open it again to get the video to load. If you leave the app open to watch your baby is frequently cuts out and crashes. Additionally sometimes it lags so much that you miss your baby waking up. It’s so unreliable that I feel that I have to check my phone every 5-10 minutes of nap time to make sure I’m not missing something. And I know the wifi isn’t to blame because I’ve used this camera on several different wifis in hotels, my in-laws, my parents cabin, it lags on all of them. Especially for the steep price, this camera is not worth it. If you want the sock, buy it separately

The owlet sock works great. The camera does not. When you load the app it sits there and thinks and thinks and maybe a hour later when the baby is already asleep the camera will decide to come on. We have talked to tech support and they keep blaming it on the server. Owlet needs to do better or more bad reviews from people will be coming their way….:

The app is atrocious, just like other reviews say, so I won’t even go there. I only have a 2200 sq ft house and the sock kept disconnecting from the base. When you’re sleep deprived this is not what you want to be messing with. I wrote in to customer service (which is also terrible btw) and they said the sock has to be in the same room as the docking station, so I don’t even have that option as an alert when the app crashes. I also truly cannot believe how bad the video quality is. We set it up exactly as it suggests and the picture is often so blurry and delayed I can’t tell if her eyes are open or closed. Hate that we spent so much money on this.

We love the convenience of setting up and using the app. Shannon gave us some great customer service assistance with our settings and sock usage that we are eager to put into play! We are hoping as new parents to use all our Dream Duo has to offer and help our little one get the best night’s sleep possible. Make sure you take advantage of your room/camera settings to get alerts that best pertain to your needs - call customer service and they are happy to help! This review reflects my experience with and opinion of this product as an actual customer. Note: I received a small incentive for posting my opinion.

We’ve been using it on our one and a half month old baby boy. The issue is that when he falls asleep, the app says he is still awake sometimes for as long as 5 mins after he’s asleep. Because of this, we never know if the readings are accurate. On top of that, the camera tends to freeze a lot and is also delayed so you are not actually getting real time feed. Sometimes the camera gets stuck and freezes.

If I could do a zero star I would’ve. The App consistently crashes. The Camera doesn’t stay connected to the Wi-Fi. Not meant to stay on throughout the night. I seriously say, do not waste your money on this. Better off getting a cheaper one.

First off I absolutely love the sock. The sock is worth every penny. It truly gives me peace of mind and really helped me transition from the bassinet to the crib. When it comes to the monitor and the app in general- literally cannot believe something that costs so much money crashes every single time I use it. I’ve literally been asleep- woken up to the app closed/crashed on my phone and my babe is crying and I have no idea for how long. We purchased a non wifi monitor that’s more reliable. So sock- ABSOLUTELY- monitor and app- not worth it whatsoever.
