Solid tool and must have in the kitchen

I had an old OXO garlic press for at least a dozen years with the red backside that would help press out the leftover garlic/peel that I looooved until it broke. So, my kids bought this replacement press for me for this past Christmas and I don't understand the point of the moveable parts. It is cumbersome, opens when I don't want it to open, and is more difficult to clean. There were no instructions on the packaging to explain the random moving parts that are unline any other garlic press out there. A garlic presss shouldn't be this complicated. I'm planning to donate it and look for a replacement that looks like my old OXO press that I loved for so many years.

This garlic press is sturdy and easy to use. It can hndle large cloves without breaking. No need to peel garlic beforehand, just press and remove skin easily. Better than other garlic shredding devices market.

The garlic press is heavy but doesn't work well. Lots of garlic gets stuck and cleaning mechnism doesn't help much. Even after washing, it's still not clean. Using it is a hassle.

Durable garlic press broke after 3 years. Handles cracked, couldn't press garlic. Looking a new one, don't recommend.

Durable Oxo garlic press is upgrade from my old one. Improved design with no water buildup after dishwasher cleaning. Highly recommend!

It looks great, how ever there are 2 design issues: 1- there are no pins on the flat pressing plate to push through the holes far enough so you don't need a knife to scrap minced garlic off. 2- short handles. Although good grap material, one couldn't easily press, let alone multiple cloves. It's just simple physics, the longer the handles the easier press. And the swing basket is just waste of material, it doesn't serve the intented purpose of easy empting if there is no extra piece of tool with pins to push the holes from the outside of basket.

Effortlessly crush multiple garlic cloves with this press. No need to peel them first. It feels strong and durable.

Great for preparing garlic to enhance the flavor of food. Very easy to use too.

I’m so glad I decided to replace my old garlic press for this one!! My only regret is not doing it sooner. Easy to use and clean!

This garlic press from OXO has saved me so much in the kitchen! It’s easy to use and hand wash. Gets a lot of the garlic pressed each time. So you’re nose wasteful. Recommend!

Can be a little tedious to clean but saves so much time while cooking. Mincing garlic is a breeze

I had the previous version of OXO garlic press. This one was marketed as being the newer version but is stricktly worse. It feels less robust. The press seems less mechanically advantaged. Convenient screen cleaning tool is abscent. I really have no idea why this exists.

This is a very good quality garlic press. I had a different branded one that I’ve had for a few years and it busted so I purchased this one. This one works WAY better and you get the most out of your garlic cloves. Would highly recommend!
