OXO Softworks Garlic Press

Works as advertised. I just wish the extrusion holes were smaller so that the garlic particles would be smaller.

SOLD! I love how convenient, and hassle-free this tool has been in the kitchen. I have saved on water, by not needing to bring out my cutting board, AND knife to get this bad boy chopped up. One tool is all you need for food prepping. I do love a good chop, though, but this is perfect for meal prepping and having to come home to make dinner after a long, busy day at work. I have gotten at least six whole, unpeeled garlic in in one round. I cannot rave enough about how much time it's saved me having to spend in the kitchen. Clean up is super easy too! Well, what are we waiting for? Go get one!

Soft works not oxo. Grips slip off it put in hot water. Not great. Don’t buy. Spend for mainline oxo. Not easy to clean bc have to hand wash. Cannot put in dishwasher. Value does not equal quality.

Buy it! It’s amazing, simply a garlic lovers dream garlic presser! Whoever complains about rust that is a users fault! It’s metal if it’s not washed and dried properly it will rust people come on 🤦🏻♀️ doesn’t take a genius to figure that out! And please NO DISHWASHER! Even if it says safe to put it trust me you will avoid rust with this and especially knives too!

I’ve had this garlic press for about a month now and it’s already rusting in the corners. I thought it would be way better quality and last for years, but already rusting when I use it 1-2 times per week is crazy

I previously had another garlic press that was a little easier to clean as it had ridges that shoved out any stuck garlic when you closed it. That was a useful feature that this one is lacking, however, it is still a good garlic press - it gets the job done and saves you chopping tons of garlic or trying to mince it fine. Just a tad harder to clean.

It works, but the design is riduclous. When I first bought it I thought it was like the OXO garlic press my mom had - which doesn't have the middle piece at all. The middle part is 100% unnecessary and I have no idea why they designed it this way. It makes it harder to clean and the garlic bits get stuck in places that are difficult to get out of. The version my mom owns has the press part and the holed area - and the pressing half includes small nubs that fit through the holes to help push out the garlic. This doesn't have that either - it's just a flat press, which leaves a flat, smooshed piece of garlic every single time that I have to pick out with a knife. I'm giving it 4 stars because it is functional and works as its supposed to and seems to be well made overall, but personally I'm looking to trade it out for a different one because it drives me bonkers.

love oxo products and good quality

Works great crushing garlic in general. Sometimes crushed garlic like to come out from the bottom side of the garlic chamber. This is not a big deal, as that garlic is still crushed, but you don't want to waste them.

My old OXO garlic press broke due to years of daily use. I replaced it with this model and was very disappointed, the quality of this one seems much cheaper and doesn’t have the easy to clean feature.

works very well, like the other reviews say it only leaves a thin layer of skin behind. I will say it feels just a little bit flimsy when you exert full pressure onto the handles but it hasn’t broken on me. does well in the dishwasher but you’ll need to rinse it thoroughly before putting in your machine

It does what its supposed to do. it does leave a skin of some garlic behind but it really cuts the time of prepping garlic down. you can fit about 2-3 cloves at a time and the skins rinse out pretty well in the dishwasher without much work. Its heavy in the hand and feels substantial.

I've only had it for 9 days with regular use and it's started to rust a bit, I'm a bit disappointed because I really liked it.

Very easy to use and clean. Your fingers will not get the garlic smell all over them anymore. The only thing left in the press is a little thin piece of skin.

I just noticed that it had rusted after a couple of months. We didn't even use it that much and of course now the return window has closed and so it was a waste of money :(

Believe me when I tell you NOT to peel garlic clove before putting in press. It’s a cinch to pick out remaining peel and easy to clean!
