Packaged in a nice box. We put it together backwards the first time without reading directions thinking it was easy because it's so small and compact but after having to start over to assemble reading the directions it was fairly easy. For $14 you would think you are getting something with quality. The instant I started assembling the lamp the bottom started to rip. There was also a small hole in the lamp shade part before the install. It is cute but when I started putting it together the bottom paper starting ripping instantly. You have to in some way STRETCH it out in order to get the middle piece in.
