I am so glad to see I am not the only reviewer that doesn't think highly of this product. I was excited to find the generic version of Clear Care for about half the cost of the brand name stuff. I've only had it for about 2 weeks and have had to throw out 2 pairs of lenses. It makes the contacts hard or something so they end up super scratchy on the eyes. I ended up using regular kind to soften them up enough to get them in my eyes. This was entirely a useless product. I'm going to take back the rest. Highly disappointed.
I’ve had the same issues in the past with generic versions of hydrogen peroxide lens cleaning solution just like other reviewers - after a few weeks, the neutralizing tablet in the case stops working effectively and the contacts sting your eyes when you put them in. I just tried the Up and Up version for the first time in years and haven’t had any issues. The case seems sturdy (seems like they’ve redesigned it?) and no stinging. Hoping I have the same experience as I use up the bottle, because Clear Care is really expensive, and Up and Up is way more reasonably priced.
Ever since they changed the style of the case, I find that this solution works just as well as Clear Care. You really can't beat the price. My only issue is opening the bottle - twisting the unopened cap with its attached seal is really difficult for me for some reason. I wish it had a plastic covering seal instead. Otherwise, it's a great product!
So I don’t mind purchasing generic products because they work as well as brand. This product worked for me for about at least 2 or 3 weeks. Then it started that when applying the lenses my eye would severely burn I mean really even when trying to take it out the pain was bad. My eye staid red for about 2 days, sensitive and in the morning would be crusty. I first I thought maybe I did not wash my hands properly or clean the case. I did not give up on it so I tried it more times and I’m sad to say it is the solution, I haven’t called the customer care number but I will today after work, I can’t return it since I threw away the receipt.
I love love love up&up products and have been using them for years. I have used the name brand version of this solution for close to a year, so I decided to try it. Firstly, I ripped a contact trying to get it out of the horrible case. Second, if I remove the contacts sooner than say 8 hours its excruciatingly painful. Third, the case is HORRIBLE and every morning is a struggle. I threw away the box or I would be returning this. I will try the number on the bottom of the product and see what they can do to help me. 0 Stars as far as I am concerned.
My contacts have been in the solution for 7+ hours now and still waiting for the solution to neutralize. The first bottle I bought was fine, but I've had issues with the second bottle--- my eyes usually start to burn right away after i put them in, usually have to rinse them twice before i can wear them.
The solution works just as well as Clear Care if you follow the directions. The case - you know, the little thing that you have to interact with twice a day - is garbage. Either Target needs to fix that, or if you're going to buy this stuff, make sure you have an old Clear Care case you can use.
