Thankfully, contrary to others' experiences, these ALL worked right out of the box. ( I bought 14 in total.) The battery case screw was, as others noted, difficult to unscrew because it is cheap and the phillips head started to strip out. Outside of that minor issue, I am very pleased. The battery c...see moreof the reviewer's review

Unlike others, I did not have an issue removing the battery compartment cover. I used a tiny screwdriver and no problem removing the cover. The only issue with this is that it uses C batteries and those are expensive. The batteries cost more than the actual item. They should remake these to use eith...see moreof the reviewer's review

Absolutely echo what other reviewers have said. When these work (translation: when you can actually remove the ridiculously tiny and totally unnecessary screw that's guarding that battery compartment like it's Fort Knox), they're great. Love the appearance of the candles, the nice warm glow, the aut...see moreof the reviewer's review

I was excited to use these candoliers to decorate my home for Christmas. I bought 3 and spent over $21.00 for batteries. Much to my dismay, I could not remove the battery compartment because the security screw was impossible to remove. I used the smallest philips head screw driver but it would not b...see moreof the reviewer's review

These candles are great and very attractive. The drawback to the 3ct. Candolier is the tiny screw that has to be removed in order to load the batteries. It was extremely difficult to unscrew and I thought I was going to end up breaking the plastic cover. My husband finally found a way to unscrew the...see moreof the reviewer's review

Love the way the candles look in my windows but agree with others that removing the security screw from the battery compartment was near impossible. We finally resorted to pliers and the decision not to put the screw back into the compartment.see moreof the reviewer's review

Huge quality control issue. When they work, they work. When they don't ,they don't.

2 came broken-the 1st Candolier the timer didn't work, the lights didn't even turn on in this mode. The second set once opened didn't even have the springs in the battery compartment to hold the D batteries. 2 others you couldn't open the back screw- even with an eye glass screw driver and ended up ...see moreof the reviewer's review
