Do you have an HDMI cable run that's longer than the longest HDMI cable you have or you can find available? This little adapter will allow you to connect 2 HDMI cables together to solve that problem. You can also keep a few on hand just in case you decide to move your furniture around and find out you need to extend the cable even more. It is what it is... the right tool for the job. It wasn’t what I was expecting but it did the job , there isn’t really any instructions so I just kinda figured it out for myself . I am currently using it for my tv .
