This shaver is bad in terms of safety of the skin. Just after 1st use it gave me very bad skin rash and had a very bad burning sensation.

If you are a new user of the Philips Shaver or you have replaced the shaving heads, keep in mind that your skin needs to adapt to the (new) shaving heads. This means that your skin may feel slightly irritated in the beginning. Allow yourself an adjustment period of two to three weeks with your new Philips Shaver system. You may also use Aloe Vera cream or lotion, a gentle moisturiser, or an alcohol-free aftershave lotion to minimise skin irritation after shaving. Also, consider allowing some adjustment time to give the skin time to recover between sessions. Some tips are below to get the best result out of your Philips shaver and to avoid discomfort and irritation. Make sure your skin is clean before using your Philips shaver. Always make sure the shaving unit is in full contact with your skin. Apply gentle pressure and move the shaving unit slowly in circular movements over your skin. Pre-trim long or hard-to-shave hair. Allow some adjustment time and give your skin some time to recover between sessions. When cleaning the shaving heads, cutter, and guard, keep in mind that they are all matching sets. If you accidentally put a cutter in the wrong shaving guard, it may take several weeks before optimal shaving performance is restored. We hope this improves your experience. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It shaves well but what I don't like is every time you use it it clogs up the razor heads and keeps shutting off if you try to use it each time I have to take the blades out and wash them I've had Norelco razors for 40 years and this is the first one that was like that actually returned it and got another one thinking there was a problem and the new one does the same thing after every shave you have to take the rotary cutters out and clean them which is a real pain.

I have been using this shaver for about a month and it works quite well. I find that wet shaving with it provides a very good shave and virtually no irritation. My previous two shavers were Braun and the replacement blades for them are almost the same price as this complete Philips shaver. Also, the replacement blades are not as good as the originals. I guess I've changed brand loyalty. All in all, I would recommend the shaver

The head has too much space between the edge of the head and the cutters, so it makes it cumbersome to get close to my nose and ears. The outer edges of the head should be rounded to put it closer to the cutters. It seems to have been designed by someone who does not shave regularly.

I had an old Philips rechargeable razor that worked really well and lasted a very long time. (25+ years) I was travelling for an extended period recently and forgot to take the charger so bought this new one. I am very happy! Similar features as the old one. I just give it a good rinse under running water after each use to keep it clean. Battery life on the new one is very good, 7 weeks with daily use. I like the travel pouch it comes with as I travel frequently. My only (minor) complaint is it is a little difficult to get a close shave under my nose. With a little practice however I am getting better at getting in there. Very happy!

Had Previously tried a Philip's and occasionally got a razor pinch(cut) if I pressed too hard. With blade's being super expensive, I decided to try Philip's again. What a pleasant surprise! I have been using the S6600 in the shower for the last 30 days and the shave is awesome! The results are a super close and super smooth shave. I couldn't be happier :) It took my beard( which is really tough) about 25 days to get Broken-in so be patient. I seem to get the best shave when I move the razor against the grain in a counter-clockwise motion. The S6600 holds a charge well and the travel case is nice and compact. it also came with an extra set of blades which is a real plus. I would highly recommend. Way to go Philips!

Ive been pretty dissappointed with the shave i get for the amount i paid for this 5000 series when i was getting close to the same with the 2000's. Im in the military and hygeine time in the morning is valueable, so i figured the more expensive model would get a closer shave with less time spent, but im having to spend the same time or sometimes more to use a regular razor to get some spots. With sensitive skin i have to really take my time with normal razors which is why i went with electric in the first place. Next time i'll get the 2000 and not be dissappointed

Bought Remingtons and thought they were good, then when the last one got very dull, tried the Philips Norelco S5880. What a surprise! This one didn't pull hair like the new Remingtons did. It's a pleasure to shave with this one. Do recommend this one to anyone.
